TL;DR: A podcast that seeks justice but has a host who has intentionally committed several due process violations as a prosecutor. First, I want to say that the content and storytelling is impeccable. I desperately wanted to love this. However, I am familiar with Anna Sigga-Nicholazzi and the documented improprieties she willfully conducted as a prosecutor. It takes people who are full of integrity, grit and humility to be prosecutors. If someone is touting an undefeated record of convictions as a prosecutor, it becomes more about the person than who they are representing - the people. It is full of irony - a podcast cannot both seek principles of justice while being hosted by a prosecutor that has been exposed for numerous due process violations to obtain convictions. I am so thankful that in some cases, appellate courts have done due diligence and sought proper justice, but I can’t help but think that if Ms. Sigga-Nicholazzi was not found to commit a pattern of constitutional violations, she’d still be practicing. The other aspect to this is that it’s easier to prevent these issues than rely on an appellate court, because the bar for it is so high. And it’s so high because there are agents of the system - for the people - who are expected to have an exceptional level of integrity. She should not be praised in these platforms, she should be held accountable and sanctioned. These types of things could happen to any criminal defendant. I cannot, in good conscience, support this podcast. And I wish I could.
