The Fairy Ring is a story about an old man who plays his violin for money, but recently he has not gotten much money, and he and his sister are sad. One evening when he is playing, an older woman stops to listen and drops a ring into his cup. The man thinks it is a silver dollar and imagines all he can buy with it, but when he sees it is a ring, he is sad. His sister takes the ring, and magical things happen.
