Syfy cancels Reginald the Vampire after two seasons

The B.C.-shot series concluded its second season on the U.S. network last week.

The B.C.-shot horror comedy series Reginald the Vampire will not be renewed by Syfy for a third season.

The series, which concluded its second season in the U.S. last week, is produced by Vancouver prodco Great Pacific Media (GPM), a division of Thunderbird Entertainment, as well as Modern Story Company, Toronto’s December Films and Cineflix Studios. A representative of GPM confirmed the news to Playback Daily. The cancellation was first reported by TVLine.

It is executive-produced by Harley Peyton, Jeremiah Chechik, Todd Berger, Lindsay Macadam, Brett Burlock and Peter Emerson.

The series stars Jacob Batalon (pictured; Spider-Man: No Way Home) as a freshly turned vampire as he attempts to navigate romance while adjusting to his new powers, urges and acquaintances.

Cineflix Rights, the U.K. distribution arm of Montreal’s Cineflix Media, is the exclusive worldwide distribution partner for Reginald the Vampire. Amazon-owned streamer Prime Video previously acquired Canada, Australia and New Zealand rights for the series’ first season, while Hulu picked up second-window U.S. rights. The series later went on to become a CTV Sci-Fi original, with season two debuting on May 8.

According to Syfy, the series was ranked as the No. 2 cable drama in the 10 p.m. Wednesday timeslot in the 18 to 49 demographic in the U.S.
