It might be a few actions that can be done in a single visit to the bank. It seems that for a bank it’s quite easy job. However, behind the scenes lies a complex process in which multiple teams: 👉 collaborate, 👉 improve the decision path, 👉 create objective decision-making tools, 👉 automate the process, 👉 build, monitor, manage and improve models, 👉 ensure high-quality data and the utmost security for bank customers.     As of today we have a new person leading our global IT security team: Maciej Ogorkiewicz 🔐   In his new role Maciej looks after #cybersecurity threats detection and incident response in international structures of ING bank, reporting to Global CISO. This important task is delivered by a cross-border team that includes almost 550 colleagues based in our Katowice and Warsaw offices.   In addition to his role in global IT security, Maciej joins our local leadership team and will contribute to managing a 3,700-strong 💪 hub, that provides highly-specialised services to ING entities in Poland and other countries.   Maciej has nearly 25 years of professional experience in IT, including more than two decades in security. He has been a member of the Orange team 🦁 since 2010.     While many of us are experiencing heat waves in Poland, we have something about snow and ice for you. But still connected to climate change. 🌎  Our engineers joined forces with scientists from the University of Silesia in Katowice to develop AI solutions that help monitor glaciers in the Arctic and detect avalanche risk in Polish mountains! 💭 The first project aims at building a tool for an automatic recognition of changes in the glaciers. “The condition of glaciers is a good indication of ongoing climate change. Examining it helps us understand the pace of change of hydrological, ecological, and environmental conditions on Earth” – says Michał Ciepły from the University of Silesia. 💭 The second project aims at developing a semi-automatic system of detecting avalanche risk. “We use meteorological data, snow profiles and avalanche registers to train an AI model that will help predict the level of avalanche risk” – says Anna Wolańska from ING Hubs Poland.     Grant programmes for our employees – this is one of our ways for being socially responsible and taking care of our employees. 🦁 BeResponsible and StayFit & Well programmes aim to build social and individual awareness. We focus on environment, various groups of people who need help and on our health by taking part in many activities. We’re super proud of the attitude of our employees who engage in both grant programmes and delighted that our orange behaviours are being taken even beyond the workplace. 🧡 These 2 great initiatives are led by our Health, Safety, Wellbeing & CSR Team, especially by Katarzyna Domańska and Sylwia Dziarmaga! 🧡 Are you curious about details? 👉 Thanks to the BeResponsible grant programme, we can jointly support the community groups of our choice. It’s up to our employees who they will support. We all want to be aware members of society. Thanks to the involvement of dozens of volunteers, we support environment, children's foundations or animal shelters. In this year's edition, we have decided to support elderly people who live in social welfare, orphanages, students, animal shelters, and we will even clean Vistula river together! 👉 The StayFit & Well grant programme, on the other hand, helps us to build relationships during different physical activities such as volleyball, football, padel, tennis, squash, yoga or even boxing! We reimburse these activities for our employees and hundreds of them spend their time on integrating, improving stamina, and building new relationships with other colleagues. Moreover, we support participation in and the preparation for sports rallies! But the sport itself is not our only point of interest. We also support important initiatives for our employees, e.g. cancer prevention or the development of manual skills during workshops or strategic thinking during chess classes. The volleys of hours spent on volunteering and shared activities allow us to be a socially responsible business! #CSR #wellbeing #ESG
