The entire Pakistani nation erupted in jubilation last night as Arshad Nadeem’s incredible 92.97-meter javelin throw secured him the gold medal at the Paris Olympics 2024! This momentous victory ends a 40-year drought for Pakistan in the Olympics, with Nadeem overcoming immense challenges, including limited facilities, equipment, and training resources, to achieve this feat. Despite the odds, he has made the nation proud on the global stage. Nadeem’s stunning throw also saw him outshine his long-time rival, India’s Neeraj Chopra, who secured the silver medal. Despite the fierce competition, the two athletes share a strong bond of friendship beyond the field. With this throw, Nadeem has now entered the elite list of the top six javelin throws of all time. The legendary Czech thrower, Jan Zelezny, holds the world record with a 98.48-meter throw set in 1996, while the best Olympic throw was 90.57 meters by Norway’s Andreas Thorkildsen in Beijing 2008.
