The Construction of Buildings industry group led the sector in the number of establishments. According to the preliminary results of the 2022 Annual Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (ASPBI), there were 2,239 establishments engaged in construction within the formal economy, reflecting a 2.4% decrease from the 2,293 reported in 2021. Among the various industry groups, the Construction of Buildings accounted for the highest share with 993 establishments, making up 44.4% of the total. This was followed by Electrical, Plumbing, and Other Construction Installation Activities with 424 establishments (18.9%), and Construction of Roads and Railways with 348 establishments (15.5%).
