Becoming a parent hasn't been easy for Savannah Chrisley.

On the July 16 episode of her Unlocked podcast, the Chrisley Knows Best alum, 26, opened up about the day her siblings, Grayson and Chloe, moved into her home when her parents Todd and Julie Chrisley reported for prison.

While adjusting to having custody of two kids after taking Grayson and Chloe in, Savannah recalled feeling like she was in over her head.

"I will never forget. It was right when my parents left," she said. "We didn't touch anything in my parents' house till after they left so I moved all the kids' stuff over to my house. Chloe's room is like a disaster because we're just trying to move everything in, and I had to find them clothes to go and visit [Todd and Julie] that weekend, and I just broke down."

"[I] fell to the floor in her room and I just started crying. And I was like, I am not my mom. Like, I don't know how I'm gonna do this," she admitted.

Though she didn't feel confident in her parenting abilities at the time, Savannah said that she found it in herself to "get up" and "just do it" despite her doubts.

"That's strength. I look back and I'm like, holy shoot," she added. "Like, going from no kids to a....I don't wish this on anyone — a pre-teen girl?"

Savannah became the legal guardian of siblings Grayson, 17, and Chloe, 11, after their parents Todd and Julie reported to prison in January 2023. (Chloe is the biological daughter of Savannah and Grayson's eldest brother Kyle Chrisley, but Todd, 55, and Julie, 51, legally adopted her in 2017 amid Kyle's ongoing struggles.)

The couple was first indicted by a grand jury in 2019 for tax evasion, conspiracy and bank and wire fraud. The evasion charge was later dropped but Todd, Julie and their accountant were found guilty on all other counts, beginning their sentences in January 2023.

On June 21, a judge vacated Julie’s seven-year prison sentence, stating the case lacked sufficient evidence but her husband Todd’s conviction was upheld.

Earlier this month, Savannah shared a conversation she had with her mother about coming home after life in prison on her Unlocked podcast.

Acknowledging how Julie may experience "PTSD" and her return home was "not gonna be easy," Savannah revealed that the two are anticipating her acclimation to be "really difficult" given the things she's allegedly "witnessed" and the alleged "abuse" she's suffered.

"It's just gonna be a lot to be reintegrated back into things when you live literally in the same freaking room, 24 hours a day, freaking 365 days a year," she continued. "It's gonna be tough for her. So that does worry me, but at the same time, we all know we can do it."
