Photo: Bee County Sheriff's Office Authorities say the human remains found in a wastewater well near Caleb Harris’ apartment show “no obvious signs of homicide.” The Corpus Christi Police Department said a city employee in Corpus Christi discovered the remains on Monday, June 24, in a 40-foot-deep well. The well, a wastewater collection point, is located near the 21-year-old student's off-campus apartment, the Beaumont Enterprise, San Antonio Express-News and Corpus Christi Caller-Times reported. In an update released on Wednesday, June 26, police said the Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office was unable to identify the remains, nor were they able to identify a cause or manner of death, “due to the advanced state of decomposition." The remains, which “bore no obvious signs of homicide,” are now being sent to the University of North Texas Center for Human Identification for DNA analysis. Harris, 21, disappeared near his apartment complex in the 1900 block of Ennis Joslin Road near Texas A&M University's Corpus Christi campus on March 4. Authorities said the area where the remains were discovered was checked early into the search for Harris, who has been missing for three months. "This whole area has been searched many times over," a spokesperson for the Corpus Christi Police Department told the Corpus Christi Caller-Times. He left his apartment around 3 a.m. on March 4 to pick up an Uber Eats order, Fox News previously reported. His roommate later found the order outside the apartment, where it had been dropped off, per the Beaumont Enterprise. "There's no evidence of wrongdoing, but there's no evidence at all," he said at the time. Uber previously told PEOPLE that Caleb’s order was completed without any reported incident and that the delivery driver made additional deliveries after dropping off his order. More than $70,000 has been raised through a GoFundMe campaign for Caleb’s family in the three months since his disappearance.
