On the most recent episode of their rewatch podcast Catching Up with the Camdens, Mitchell, Gallagher and co-host and fellow 7th Heaven costar Mackenzie Rosman started out discussing the similarities and differences between themselves and their characters. Mitchell’s Lucy, the third-oldest of the show’s seven Camden siblings, was of course notable in early seasons for her seemingly endless roster of boyfriends. But Mitchell said, “In my own personal life, never even comes close to Lucy's number. Like I have a Lucy number, like, for kissing people, and then I have like my number. There's a very big difference. Like Lucy had — she had game. Beverley has zero game.” Despite the number of boys Lucy kissed on the show, Mitchell, now 43, said that for her, those scenes were always “really awkward and really uncomfortable.” David Gallagher and Mackenzie Rosman in '7th Heaven'. I'm not going to say who it was.” “Had Ruthie and Martin hooked up, I might have used tongue,” Rosman, 34, joked of her character and that of Tyler Hoechlin. Gallagher, whose character Simon was just 10 years old when the series began, said he had his first kiss on the show. But, he explained, he was always mindful of his scene partners’ comfort levels. So, I always was like — I let the girl lead that experience. So, however she kissed me, we went with that, you know what I mean?” “That is much appreciated,” Mitchell said. “Because there were other times where I literally felt like I was being eaten alive.” “Kissing is like dancing,” Rosman noted. “Some people lead and some people follow.” Close
