NFL fans ruthlessly roast Terrell Owens for Tom Brady comments

NFL fans are roasting Pro Football Hall of Famer Terrell Owens on social media, following an interview where he called out legendary quarterback Tom Brady for a “lack of respect” and “arrogance.”

During an appearance on “The Bubba Dub Show,” Owens revealed that he reached out to Brady late in the 2021 season in hopes of joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Owens explained he wasn’t seeking a full-time role, but he was mainly looking to work in on third downs and red zone situations.

The Buccaneers had just released Antonio Brown, and Chris Godwin was out with a torn ACL. So Owens, who was 48 years old at the time, put in a word with the seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback.

“I reached out to him through Randy [Moss] and a couple of other people just to come in and play third down and red zone situations,” Owens said. “You know this dude really ignored me, bro? …It just shows you the lack of respect, and then when they get in front of you, they want to act like they respect you. Me, I’m a Hall of Famer. You’ve seen what I’ve done on the football field. But it just goes to show how arrogance comes into play.”

Owens was well past his prime as an NFL player, but he was still an athletic specimen, despite nearing 50 years old.

However, fans on social media haven’t seemed too receptive of the idea of a Brady-Owens team-up that late in their careers. Some even applauded Brady for not responding to Owens.

Of course, that’s even assuming Brady received the message at all. This might have simply been a situation where Brady never knew Owens reached out.

And even if he did, it would have been an equally awkward situation if he had to tell Owens no. Imagine what that conversation would have been like. Here’s what fans were saying about Owens’ comments on social media.
