Police: Two Arrested in Midday Robbery in Woodbridge

One suspect was armed wih a pipe and a knife, say Prince William County police.

Two homeless individuals are behind bars and facing charges for an armed robbery Saturday afternoon in Woodbridge.

The Prince William County police responded at 1:08 p.m., searched the area in the 2800 block of Prince William Parkway and arrested Charles Edwards Barnes, 26, and Cheryl Lynn Lewis, 24, both of no fixed address, according to a police report.

Both suspects were charged with robbery and are being held without bond in the Prince William-Manassas regional jail. Their next date in court is Oct. 5.

The victim of the robbery, a 44-year-old Woodbridge woman, told police that she was assaulted and robbed by the two suspects in a wooded area near the Best Buy store. She is acquainted with both individuals, the police said, and suffered minor injuries in the robbery.

One suspect was armed with a pipe and knife. The pair took the victim’s money, cell phone and food before fleeing on foot, the police said.
