Ice Skating At Stonebridge Town Center: Woodbridge Date Night Ideas

WOODBRIDGE, VA — If you've been to Stonebridge Potomac Town Center this winter, you might've noticed the Stonebridge Ice Rink. From November through the end of February, the rink offers skating opportunities in increments of an hour and a half.

Some couples are clearly comfortable on the rink, carving a path through the ice like the athletes currently competing at the Beijing Winter Olympics. Others stick to the edge and try not to fall. Regardless of experience level, couples can be seen laughing and smiling around the rink.

The rink is located next to the Alamo Drafthouse and adjacent to Firebird's. Street parking is available in the shopping center, and the rink is also near the parking lots behind the Alamo movie theater, which offers plenty of parking spaces without requiring too much of a walk.

Every winter, couples flock to the Stonebridge Ice Rink, and its operators are proud of its romantic reputation.

"We love that the rink has become a popular date night activity that often includes a visit to one our neighboring restaurants," the rink's operator told Patch. "We have also had the privilege of hosting several proposals. It is a great feeling that we are able to help create lifelong memories for our skaters."

Here are some things to know for anyone hoping to include a visit to the ice rink for their next date:

• Limited time only: The ice rink will cease operations for the season at the end of February. The rink is open from 3:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. from Monday to Thursday, from 3:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, and from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday. On Presidents' Day, the rink will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Price range: Adults can skate for an hour and a half for $10, though skate rentals will cost an additional $6. Skate aids are available for a $7 rental, for those who are less than graceful on the ice.

• Reservation for two: Reservations aren't required, but they are recommended in case the rink sells out. Reservations for the ice rink can be made online.'
• Make a night of it: There's an array of other things around Stonebridge too build out your date night. The Alamo Drafthouse is directly next to the rink and showing an array of movies with food and drinks delivered to your seat. Dinner options nearby include Firebird's, Uncle Julio's, and Sushi Jin. A visit to Duck Donut or Bar Louie at the end of the night could cap off a great date.
