Luke Broderick proposed with Kristen Doute’s ‘dream engagement ring’ she helped design a decade ago

Kristen Doute is a girl who knows what she wants.

The “Valley” star — who just got engaged to boyfriend of two years Luke Broderick — actually “dreamt up” her massive, emerald-cut engagement ring nearly a decade before he proposed, Page Six Style has exclusively learned.

We’re told Doute, 41, went to celebrity jewelry designer and good friend Kyle Chan with her “exact” idea for the stunning bauble back in 2016.

Though Doute didn’t meet Broderick until two summers ago, we’re told the “Vanderpump Rules” alum soon relayed the ring information to her beau, who then contacted Chan.

Chan then custom-made Doute’s “dream engagement ring,” which features a 4.27-carat elongated emerald-cut diamond and a natural white diamond hidden halo set atop a 14-karat white gold band that contains another half carat worth of diamonds.

According to Chan and the newly betrothed couple, the hidden halo setting represents “the love around the center diamond,” which represents Doute.

Broderick presented his leading lady with the sparkler on a boat in Maui earlier this week as cameras rolled for “The Valley” Season 2.

He told her to keep an eye out for dolphins while he got down on one knee at sunset, Us Weekly reported.

“It was a total surprise,” Doute told the outlet, admitting that she blurted out some expletives before ultimately agreeing to marry Broderick.

Though they admittedly “had sex behind a tent,” the pair didn’t make their romance official until December of that year.

“I knew from the moment we met that Luke was my person. I am so excited to continue this journey together, now as fiancés.”

Almost a year later, Doute revealed she’d recently experienced a “terrifying” miscarriage at six weeks.

In March, Broderick — who also appears on “The Valley” — made the permanent move from Colorado to Los Angeles, and he and the James Mae founder moved into a Valley Village apartment together.

Doute was previously in a seven-year relationship with her “Vanderpump Rules” co-star Tom Sandoval before moving on with James Kennedy, whom she dated from 2014 to 2015.

Her relationship with Brian Carter from 2016 to 2020 also played out on “Vanderpump Rules.” She then dated Alex Menache from 2020 to 2022 before meeting Broderick two weeks after the duo broke up.
