How Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie ‘clashed’ over ‘very different parenting styles’ during marriage

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie butted heads raising six kids during their marriage, according to a new report.

“They had very different parenting styles,” a source told People Thursday. “Brad and Angie clashed over this.”

The insider claimed the “Fight Club” actor, 60, “grew up with structure and wanted more rules for” Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16.

For her part, the “Maleficent” star, 49, “had a different upbringing and wanted the kids to be more independent and responsible for their own schedules from a young age.”

However, the duo “always [had] the same vision their kids’s futures,” per the source.

The pair, who married in 2014 and separated in 2016, reportedly “wanted the kids to thrive by experiencing the world first-hand and not only learn from traditional schooling.”

A rep for Pitt declined to comment when Page Six reached out, and a rep for Jolie did not respond.

A source close to “Troy” star, however, tells us that “making up stories to keep the family in headlines is not beneficial” to the children.

The former couple, who were together for 12 years before calling it quits, were declared legally single in 2019.

And yet, they have continued to battle each other in court over custody issues and their Château Miraval winery.

Jolie begged her ex-husband to “end the fighting and put their family on a clear path toward healing” Wednesday in a statement to Page Six via her lawyer Paul Murphy.

“[Pitt] has control of all the properties the couple shared as well as control of the business, but still he demands more, and is suing Angelina for $67 million plus punitive damages,” the attorney explained.

“In doing so, Pitt placed squarely at issue why he tried to punish and control Angelina by demanding a newly expanded NDA to cover his personal misconduct and abuse,” he continued. “Those actions are central to these proceedings.”

The actress’s lawyer threatened to “obtain the evidence necessary to prove his allegations wrong” if Pitt does not “withdraw his lawsuit.”

As their legal drama plays out, many of Jolie and Pitt’s children have made headlines for dropping their dad’s last name.

Shiloh legally filed to change her surname to just Jolie instead of Jolie-Pitt.

As for Zahara and Vivienne, Pitt’s daughters left out his last name in a sorority induction ceremony and a Broadway Playbill, respectively.

The “Babylon” actor has “virtually no contact with his adult kids,” People reported earlier this month.

“His engagement with the younger kids is more limited in recent months because of his filming schedule,” a source told the magazine.

Pitt, who has been dating Ines de Ramon since 2022, has yet to comment publicly on where he stands with his children.
