This is the open-access wiki of the Core for Advanced MRI (CAMRI) at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM).
The wiki allows for easy updating and dissemination of the latest research methods and procedures in use at CAMRI and is distinct from the official BCM web page for CAMRI.

To facilitate scheduling, we have updated the cancellation policy. Cancellations will be free up until 24 hours before the scheduled scan start time.
Cancellations within 24 hours will be fully charged. We will monitor cancellations to ensure investigators are not overbooking and canceling frequently.
Scan rates:
- Normal scan rate:$565/hr
- $250/hr for level 1 training sessions
- $500/hr for level 2 training sessions
- Technologist assistance= %15 fee
- Data retrieval fee from archives= $30/session

Discount Pricing
Starting September 1st 2023: We now have discount pricing for frequent users.
Below are the discounted pricing and usage hours per lab:
0-20 hours: - $550/hr
21-40 hours: - $500/hr
41-60 hours: - $450/hr
61-80 hours: - $425/hr
81< hours: - $385/hr

Booking a Session
- To schedule time on the scanner, you must use the iLab website https://bcm.ilab.agilent.com/service_center/show_external/3684. Security clearance forms for all non-BCM visitors and lab members will need to be sent to: [email protected] at the time of reservation.
- Each person that will be present at the scan (researchers and participants) will need to have clearance to enter the building.

All requests under 24 hours will automatically be denied.
About CAMRI
CAMRI is one of BCM's [|Advanced Technology Cores]. CAMRI provides technology and services for advanced imaging studies of the function, physiology and anatomy of humans and large animals, with a special emphasis on blood-oxygen level dependent functional magnetic resonance imaging (BOLD fMRI) of the human brain.
The center houses two Siemens Prisma Fit scanners (3 tesla field strength). A full complement of product pulse sequences are available for:
- High-resolution structural imaging
- Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI)
- fMRI
- Arterial Spin Labeling (ASL)
- Single and multi-voxel magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS).
Research sequences are available for specialized imaging applications.
For functional studies, equipment is available for:
- stimulation of the auditory, visual, somatosensory and gustatory modalities
- Infrared eye tracking of subject eye position
- Manual and vocal response recording.
Visiting CAMRI
CAMRI is located on the first floor of the Smith Research Wing of Baylor College of Medicine.
Visitors can enter Baylor at one of two entrances:
- Baylor Main Entrance: Located at One Baylor Plaza, Houston, TX. This entrance is most convenient for those walking, being dropped off or taking public transit.
- TMC Garage 6: Most convenient for those driving. TMC Garage 6 is the closest parking garage for visitors to park. Garage 6 is attached to Baylor and a very short walk from CAMRI's main doors. The street address for Garage 6 is 1329 Moursund St., Houston, Texas 77030.

To enter Baylor College of Medicine, ID is required. Please shown an ID from a local institution (such as BCM, Rice, UT, Houston Methodist, MDACC) to the guard for entry. If you do not have an ID from a local institution, you will be considered a visitor and must show an official government-issued ID to obtain a temporary badge at the security desk. Visitors must be approved by a Baylor employee. See above under 'Booking a session' to access the security clearance form that you will need to email to CAMRI staff to obtain approval.
