Kim Fields Biography
Kim Fields is a seasoned American actress, television director, singer, CEO, radio show, host, and acting teacher. She is best known for her role as Tootie on the television series The Facts of Life and also for appearing in What to Expect When You’re Expecting. Moreover, Kim competed in season 22 of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.
Her first notable role was as a child actress in the classic Mrs. Butterworth syrup commercial at age seven. She was later cast as the young daughter of the short-lived series, Baby, I’m Back. In 1979, Kim landed the role of Dorothy Ramsey aka Tootie on the hit show, The Facts of Life.
While casting, she joined Burbank High School later graduating in 1986. In school she was dubbed the most talented student, becoming an actress in school.
Having this role, she grew up in front of a television audience until the end of the show in 1988. However, In 1980 while still casting in The Facts of Life, she played a gymnast in the NBC movie, Children of Divorce.
After The Facts of Life, she joined Pepperdine University for a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Film later graduating in 1990. While still in college, Kim established her own production company, Victory Entertainment, which specializes in television, film, and theatre.
In 1993, Kim returned to television in yet another hit series, playing Regine Hunter alongside Queen Latifah in the Fox sitcom, Living Single. Later in 1998, the show went off the air and Kim founded Litel Mogul Holdings.
In 1994, she received an NAACP Image Award for Best Director for bringing Vanities to the stage in Los Angeles. A year later (1995), Kim was again honored by the NAACP with an Image Award for Best Actress in Fight the Good Fight.

As a director, she directed Nickelodeon’s Keenan and Kel, Taina; Disney’s The Jersy, and episodes of Living Single. She also made guest appearances on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Keenan and Kel, Cupid, and Strong Medicine. Fields further directed the sitcoms Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns, Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, and BET’s Let’s Stay Together.
Her other notable starring roles include; Martin (1992), The Golden Palace (1992), The Crew (1995), C. Bear and Jamal (1996), Music of the Heart (1999). Moreover, she was featured in the independent feature film, Me and Mrs. Jones. She also guest-appeared on television shows such as UPN’s One on One, and The Golden Palace, and was cast as herself on HBO’s The Comeback.
On August 18, 2015, Kim was announced to be joining the cast of the Bravo reality show, The Real Housewives of Atlanta for its 8th season. However, on March 21, 2016, she announced that she would not be returning for another season.
On March 8, 2016, Kim was announced to compete in season 22 of Dancing with the Stars.
