In New Zealand, our AirShare UTM system powers the AirShare drone operators' hub airshare.co.nz, where NZ drone pilots can find the information and access they need to operate their drone safely in all types of airspace, plan drone flights, and gain authorisation to fly from Airways New Zealand and aerodrome operators. In our latest Operator Spotlight profile on this site, we hear from Creative Producer at Clockwork Creative Productions, Steve Unwin. Steve talks a bit about the business and how AirShare supports their safety and success. Check out the profile here ➡️ https://bit.ly/48HDIeq If you’re a NZ drone pilot and keen to be profiled, please contact us. We’d love to hear from you! #nzdrones #dronepilot #uncrewedaircraft

Navigating the future of UA and airspace management.
About us
AirShare is a proven uncrewed aircraft traffic management (UTM) system, to help air navigation service providers and regulators safely and efficiently integrate uncrewed traffic into their airspace. A cloud-based solution developed by Airways International Ltd, AirShare is a world leader in UA traffic management, providing real-time display and management of UA activity, integration with UA detection systems in and around aerodrome control zones, and a one-stop shop for drone pilots to plan flights, gain approvals and operate safely. AirShare has been utilised in live operational airspace in New Zealand since 2014, as New Zealand’s drone user hub and Airways’ UTM system – reducing risks related to uncrewed aircraft, enhancing situational awareness for ATCs, and reducing ATC workload. We’ve designed AirShare to integrate with other systems using public APIs – creating an environment where the drone industry can innovate using the services and data made available through our UTM system. Thank you to our friends at Tāwhaki for spreading the word about AirShare, New Zealand's hub for recreational and commercial drone operators! AirShare in NZ is powered by the AirShare uncrewed traffic management (UTM) system - it's where NZ drone pilots can find the information and access they need to learn how to operate their drone safely in all types of airspace, plan drone flights, identify safe places to fly, and gain authorisation to fly from Airways New Zealand and aerodrome operators. Taking Your Drone to the Skies – Safely! New to flying drones? You may not know about AirShare, an essential platform for recreational drone pilots in Aotearoa. AirShare lets you log your flights and request permissions to fly in airspaces with restrictions, like near airports, aerodromes, and helipads. This helps keep our skies safe and accessible for everyone. As Tāwhaki is a published aerodrome (➡️ https://lnkd.in/gDCQCZJg ) you need approval for any flights within a 4km radius. 📝 Please submit your flight request through AirShare. And to the budding pilots out there – welcome to the skies! 🌄Check out some useful links below to help you on your way ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/gTedg4dA https://lnkd.in/gHuvN8cb https://lnkd.in/gxmS-626 https://lnkd.in/gg5ZUV_j #DroneSafety #UTM #UAVs #AdvancedAviation

Calling all New Zealand drone operators – we’re pleased to share that we’ve undergone a refresh of airshare.co.nz, New Zealand’s hub for recreational and commercial drone operators. Our revamped site encourages and supports uncrewed aircraft operators to log their drone flights, providing easy access to the AirShare web and mobile apps and useful resources and information to help them plan flights and identify safe places to fly in all types of airspace. Through AirShare, drone operators can request authorisation to fly from Airways New Zealand and aerodrome operators. AirShare’s drone flights by the numbers for New Zealand’s airspace is out for the recent quarter, to 30 September. This snapshot shows drone flights logged across national airspace in both uncontrolled and controlled airspace, via the AirShare website and mobile apps. George Ridd, AirShare Product Manager, will be presenting alongside industry colleagues at the UAVNZ Conference next month, as part of the ‘What if Drones Came first? The Future of Airspace’ session. Registrations are still open for this conference - you won’t want to miss this discussion, where George will cover recent AirShare developments, including the work we’re doing with uncontrolled aerodromes. #UTM #AAM #Drones

The Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand Emerging Aviation Technologies Forum was held this week. Our own Justine Whitfield was there, collaborating with NZ and global industry colleagues in joint efforts to support emerging aviation in Aotearoa ✈️ Airways International Ltd (AIL) #UTM #AAM #NZaerospace
Great to be part of supporting emerging aviation in NZ at the CAA Emerging Aviation Technologies Forum this week, and to catch-up with NZ, Canadian (Ryan) and Singaporean colleagues Lah Chong Aw and Zachary Seah! Fab venue to grab some pics at the break too. Especially when pic taken by someone who had flown the aircraft. We’re pleased to share that we’re running a trial of AirShare for a group of New Zealand unattended aerodromes and large landowners, to help inform what a safe, fit-for-purpose UTM system and ecosystem looks like for Aotearoa now and in the future. The first trial participant is Tekapo Aerodrome - we've been in close collaboration with Air Safaris to deploy AirShare at their aerodrome. Qualified drone pilots operating near the aerodrome are being encouraged to log their flights via AirShare, saving time and effort in requesting approval to fly and streamlining Air Safari’s processes around uncrewed aircraft flight management. The need to ensure safe integration of uncrewed aircraft into our airspace requires careful planning and strong cooperation, via a UTM that can integrate with other systems and enable a UTM ecosystem. One vital function available in AirShare is the integration with electronic and paper-based flight strips – providing ATCs in towers with info on filed flight plans by pilots. The AirShare system produces a flight strip 30 minutes before the logged start time of an uncrewed aircraft flight, and a flight termination strip – helping to provide airspace managers with an operational picture to reduce the risk from drones. #UTM #AAM #ATM #integration

Proud to be advancing uncrewed aircraft operations in Aotearoa alongside our friends at Tāwhaki National Aerospace Centre! The AirShare UTM is now live at Tāwhaki, in the first phase of our collaboration agreement - facilitating uncrewed aircraft operations at the centre and providing a picture of airspace activity around the site at Kaitorete near Christchurch. We'll be trialling advanced UTM features at Tāwhaki, and gathering data on how UTM supports the development of a modern, safe airspace that serves all users. New Zealand is well represented at the International Civil Aviation Organization Advanced Air Mobility Symposium 2024 in Montreal! Justine Whitfield and John McKenzie were pleased to connect with colleagues from the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand and VertiLink Advanced Air Mobility Group at the event. Symposium attendees have been hearing about the significant efforts being made globally to enable uncrewed aircraft and AAM - and the NZ AAM sector is playing an important part in this! #UTM #AAM2024 ICAO Unmanned Aviation & Advanced Air Mobility
Kia ora, great to see NZ Inc well represented at the ICAO AAM symposium with CAA & Airways! Along with other Kiwi’s and hear about all the mahi/work in NZ and globally to enable UAs and AAM. AirShare Day 3 started with a panel discussing the human role in AAM (incl fully autonomous ones like Wisk ) and considerations such as what tasks are best for humans or machines, embedding human factors in design process, what workload is appropriate for remote pilots overseeing flights – and the concept of a ‘low altitude economy’ being an area of focus and future growth for both UA and AAM.
