KARTOON STUDIOS CELEBRATES STAN LEE’S LEGACY AT THIS WEEK’S SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON It's been over five years since Stan Lee left the world. At SAN DIEGO COMIC CONVENTION INC this year, Kartoon Studios (TOON) will be celebrating Stan's legacy and delving into how he created iconic characters and unforgettable stories, as well as touch on the unique principles that guided Stan to tell stories like only he could, in a panel, “Stan Lee: The Next 100 Years,” on Saturday, July 27th from 12:00 – 1:00 pm PST in Room 9. The panel will be moderated by multi-Emmy Award winning producer, co-creator of Inspector Gadget, longtime collaborator of Stan Lee, and Chairman & CEO of Kartoon Studios, Andy Heyward, with panelists, including: ·     David Yu - Co-founder & CEO of VeVe, the global leader in digital collectibles and comics derived from some of the world’s best-known IP from partners such as Disney, Marvel, Lamborghini, Star Wars and more.    ·     Marc Guggenheim - Screenwriter, television producer, comic book writer, and novelist whose credits include the television series Eli Stone, Arrow, Tales of Arcadia, Trollhunters, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow, and more. ·     Michael Uslan - Originator and executive producer of the Batman movie franchise and esteemed comic book historian who recently curated the “Excelsior! The Life and Legacy of Stan Lee,” at the Comic-Con Museum in San Diego. ·     Hazel Homer-Wambeam – Lead Curator of the acclaimed "Stan Lee: Beyond the Book" exhibit at the UW American Heritage Center and the foremost Gen-Z authority on Stan Lee, Hazel serves as the Brand Manager for Stan Lee Universe, leveraging her extensive knowledge and passion for Lee's legacy. ·     Burton Morris - Globally renowned pop artist best known for his bold and graphic depictions of American icons has been the featured artist for the Academy Awards, the Olympic Games, and the Montreux Jazz Festival among countless other events, in addition to exhibiting in galleries and museums around the world. A lifelong fan of Stan, Burton was also proud to call him a friend. The panelists will discuss the principles that guided Stan Lee to write and create as only he could and share real stories about their personal and professional relationships with Stan over the past decades; the indelible mark Stan left on pop culture; and what the next 100 Years of Stan Lee will look like with new productions from Kartoon Studios’ Stan Lee Universe.
