Established in 2006 and named after the Maori god of earthquakes, Ruamoko Solutions specialize in delivering structural design solutions to mitigate the devastation to buildings that can occur as a result of major earthquakes, as well as provide a quality structural engineering service for mainstream projects. At Ruamoko Solutions, we take structure seriously. It is our passion, and our specialty. Our specialised interest in earthquake engineering and strong ties to cutting edge research has placed us in a prominent position following the recent Canterbury Earthquakes where we have led the way in pioneering seismic design for the Christchurch rebuild including first post-earthquake use of base-isolation, PRESSS and other damage avoidance technology such as NZ's first bolted-link EBF seismic frames. At Ruamoko Solutions, we understand the team environment and enjoy working as part of a team with architects, owners, developers, consultants and contractors to develop the best all-round solutions for building projects. The Ruamoko team have won several prestigious industry awards. Grant Wilkinson has won the coveted New Zealand Engineering Award, Category A, Building, for the Christchurch Womens' Hospital Building, and Julian Ramsay has won an ACENZ Innovate NZ Award of Excellence for the Three35 Development in Christchurch

Another one in the can! Cheers Fat Eddies and the Oxford Group for having us back. The WIEHAG Timber Construction GmbH factory in Salsburg, Austria has done an amazing job producing the Glulam for our 211 High project in Christchurch. The crisp machining and the rich grain of the European Spruce make these look more like pieces of modern art than primary structural elements. Once the timber arrives here, we’ll be using over 55,000 screws, bolts, dowels and connectors to fit these and the Stora Enso CLT floor panels together to complete the structure. ‘Breaking the mould’ is never easy but we’re on track to produce a sustainable pioneering first class asset. A great morning with the wonderful wāhine, Jasmyn and Marlena, here at Ruamoko Solutions. They ran a brilliant bespoke workshop around Te Ao Māori, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Tikanga Māori, and te reo Māori and the relevance to us not just as kiwis, but to us as a team here at Ruamoko. The team have come away with a much better understanding of Māori culture, and more confidence around incorporating te reo into our everyday language. Key takeaway? Just give it a go! We were also gifted a lovely koha ("A Māori Word a Day") to inspire some extra te reo around the office. Ngā mihi nui!

Great to see the removal of all propping and scaffolding to reveal the newly restored Old Municipal Chambers in Christchurch for the first time in over a decade.
