💯 👉 "Looking ahead, we can’t wait for IAC 2025 Sydney to come to our region next year in Sydney, Australia, and to have the New Zealand Aerospace Summit as an official adjacent event to #IAC2025. See you there!"
👩🚀 The Aerospace New Zealand team—Victoria Harman, Emma Renowden, and Robin McNeill—had an incredible time at #IAC2024 in Milan this week! 🇮🇹 🌎 It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with colleagues from the global aerospace industry and engage in meaningful discussions about aerospace sustainability and international collaboration 🤝. 🇳🇿 We were thrilled to attend the New Zealand reception hosted by the New Zealand Space Agency and New Zealand Trade and Enterprise. A special thank you to Ambassador Austin Brick (New Zealand Consul General in Italy), and a shoutout to our Operations Manager Victoria Harman who did an outstanding job MC’ing a panel with Robin McNeill and Warwick Downing at the event 🎤. It was a pleasure connecting with notable figures such as Iain Cossar, Walther Pelzer from DLR (German Aerospace Center), and Richard C. from NZTE, along with the countless aerospace organisations doing incredible work around the world. 🌟Shoutout to our Business Associate Axiom Space , who announced their new space suit which will be used by NASA on the moon moons 🌓 As we showcased New Zealand’s rapidly developing space sector and the importance of international partnerships, we’re excited about the efforts being put towards space sustainability, highlighted by the signing of the European Space Agency - ESA Agency’s Zero Debris Charter by New Zealand Space Agency Head, Iain Cossar✍️. Looking ahead, we can’t wait for IAC 2025 Sydney to come to our region next year in Sydney, Australia, and to have the New Zealand Aerospace Summit as an official adjacent event to #IAC2025. Feeling space-y this week? 🌌 #WorldSpaceWeek #WSW2024 started on Friday and goes through to Thursday – Why these dates? – The first human-made Earth satellite, Sputnik 1, was launched on 4 October 1957, opening the way for space exploration; and on 10 October 1967, the United Nations “Treaty on Principles Governing the Activities of States in the Exploration and Use of Outer Space, including the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies” entered into force.
🌏 Every year, for one week in October, the globe unites in celebrating World Space Week, an international observance established by the United Nations in 1999 to commemorate the launch of Sputnik 1, the first human-made satellite, and the signing of the Outer Space Treaty. This event serves as an important reminder of the marvels of space exploration and its profound impact on our lives, shaping everything from our understanding of the universe to the technology in our pockets.
