Alongside Google and Mārama, we explored the growing importance of engaging New New Zealanders, outlining how we as marketers can better reach and engage the 200,000+ people who make the move to our shores each year. Whether it’s new technology enabling translation and content production in previously unimagined ways, the opportunities a fragmented media landscape gives us to reach these audiences in familiar and trusted formats, or the underlying theories that help us take statistics and insights and make them into impactful work – the possibilities to do great things are there for us all to grab a hold of. The Ministry of Social Development (MSD) took home the coveted Te Tohu Auaha Hou | Innovation Award at last week's Spirit of Service Awards for their work on the Love Better campaign. 🎉 This prestigious award recognizes MSD's radical new approach to promoting safe and positive relationships among young people. The Public Service Commission commended Love Better for its success in disrupting harmful discourses and creating a positive shift in knowledge and attitudes. With only six awards presented annually, recognising excellence across diverse areas of government, this win is a true testament to the campaign's impact and the team's dedication to driving positive change. We're incredibly proud to be a part of this important initiative!

Last week Nigel hosted a discussion on Collaboration with Sinead Boucher from Stuff and Juliet Peterson from Warner Brothers Discovery. There’s been a huge amount of change in our industry this year and it was insightful and inspiring to hear how these organisations are working together to work through it! What an incredible experience for these OMD boys. They won the Young Lions NZ competition and thanks to @commscouncilnz, were flown out to Cannes, France to experience Cannes International Festival of Creativity and participate in the Global Young Lions competition. When asked about highlights from the week, this is what they had to say: 🔦 Meeting all the talented young lions from around the world and hearing some of their challenges and learnings from other markets. 🤝 Meeting so many influential people in media and learning how creativity is driving the industry. The scale of everything was quite eye opening to be honest! 🗣️ Listening to how Heinz ensurance of creative exellence is likely and not “lucky”. 🥇 Witnessing OMD win global media network of the year and saw some great Kiwi campaigns on the world stage 📝 Spending a few hours in the “basement” in Palais, exploring work that defines innovation and inspiration! What an epic experience 🙌🙌🙌
