We were proud to sponsor the World Green Infrastructure Congress 2024 hosted by The University of Auckland this week. While we tend to perceive our local towns and cities as distinct from the natural world, infrastructure is actually one of the primary sectors most vulnerable to biodiversity loss. It was great to come together as an international community to progress action on environmental, social, and economic climate resilience. Nice to be able to drop in to the World Green Infrastructure Congress 2024 and catch KPMG New Zealand’s Eva Siwicka sharing her reflections on the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) project she worked on with Auckland Transport’s Cathy Bebelman and Abhilasha (Abby) S.. The project is an important step towards the integration of #nature-related #risks and #opportunities into decision making here in Aotearoa #NewZealand, not just within ‘traditional’ nature-focussed sectors, but to business at large - all of whom are dependent on nature in some way shape or form. Really looking forward to seeing what Cathy, Abby and the team do to build on this first stage. 👏🏽👍🏽🌏🌲💪🏽 Was also super cool to be able to catch up with some awesome #green #infrastructure leaders, movers and shakers - a much needed boost in what has been a challenging few weeks and months. #TNFD
