While cyber security remains one of the big issues for businesses, only 55% of small and medium businesses have it as a top priority and less than half (48%) say they are prepared for a cyber incident.     That’s some of the findings of our new research which tracks the cyber security behaviours of small to medium enterprises (SMEs). Event logging, in conjunction with event log analysis, supports the secure operation of critical systems and services by enabling network visibility and cyber threat identification. The Australian Signals Directorate's Australian Cyber Security Centre (ASD's ACSC) has developed the ‘Best practices for event logging and threat detection’ publication in cooperation with the NCSC and other international partners, detailing best practice guidance for event logging and threat detection for cloud services, enterprise information technology (IT) networks, enterprise mobility and operational technology (OT) networks. This guidance is intended primarily for cyber security practitioners, IT managers, OT operators, network administrators and network operators within medium to large organisations.
