  • We're pleased to be taking a Track II delegation to Malaysia next week to participate in the ASEAN Australia New Zealand Roundtable (AANZ) exchange 🤝✈ This is an annual dialogue that we co-host with Asialink, ISIS Malaysia and ASEAN-ISIS. Joined by New Zealand thought leaders and experts, this Track II exchange will cover ASEAN-related foreign policy, trade and security topics, allow for rich discussions and enable us to strengthen connections with offshore partners. While there, we will also host a NextGen Masterclass to support the next generation of Track II participants. We will share content from this group as they go through their programme - stay tuned! 📸: 2023 AANZ Masterclass

  • It was a delight to take a group of New Zealand performing arts programmers to South Korea last week with Creative New Zealand! 🎭 The delegation had a busy schedule. They attended Performing Arts Market Seoul (celebrating its 20th edition), featuring artists and performers from across the world that our delegation connected with, opening up the opportunity to explore collaborations and exchanges. 🤝 Alongside the arts market, the group met with notable arts organisations and practitioners to further the arts sector relationships between New Zealand-Korea, visited notable Korean cultural sites in Seoul and deepened their knowledge of the arts sector in South Korea. Thanks to everyone who made this delegation possible! Special shout-out to the New Zealand Embassy in Seoul, Kyu Choi from the Seoul Performing Arts Festival, the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture, Performing Arts Market Seoul, and of course our partner Creative New Zealand. We look forward to seeing the projects and initiatives that were sparked during this delegation!

  • That's a wrap on the Asia Summit 2024! 🌟   From geopolitics to media to sports, we covered it all! What a dynamic day full of important discussions and insights. It was great to have government officials, dignitaries, business leaders, and a wide range of Asia experts as part of the conversation. We were pleased to conclude the Summit with an address from the Minister of Foreign Affairs Winston Peters, reflecting on the past 30 years of Asia-New Zealand relations and the Asia New Zealand Foundation.   The reception following the summit was a wonderful celebration of the Foundation’s 30th anniversary, featuring a special address by guest speaker Dr Michael Fullilove, Executive Director of the Lowy Institute, who shared observations on the New Zealand-Australia-Asia dynamic—similarities, differences, and opportunities.   A big thank you to all our speakers from the day and to everyone who joined us! It was wonderful to bring together so many stakeholders and the wider Foundation whānau to celebrate 30 years of the Asia New Zealand Foundation Te Whītau Tūhono.

  • Great to be part of the Ministry of Ethnic Communities' Ethnic Xchange Symposium in Auckland today. 🤝💬 While the Foundation is focused on equipping New Zealanders to thrive in Asia, today’s discussions offer an important and complementary part of this effort - helping New Zealanders of Asian (and other!) heritage connect and thrive domestically. By working together, and drawing on the full range of skills and experiences our community has, we position ourselves for success.    #EthnicXchange24
