ART IN FULL BLOOM
With a wealth of art offerings on the North Shore, I can always satisfy my culture cravings. From the world class Peabody Essex Museum in Salem to the breathtaking Shalin Lui concert hall in Rockport to myriad art associations around the region, art abounds everywhere you look. One of my favorite museums to visit is Hammond Castle. Built in the 1920s by inventor John Hays Hammond Jr., the castle is in the medieval style and incorporates many 16th-century architectural elements that Hammond collected from his travels to Europe. This month, the museum will exhibit more than 60 pieces by early 20th-century Annisquam artist Eric Pape. See page 52 for more details.
