🎉 Major milestone achieved for our 1.1 GW floating offshore wind project in South Korea! 🔊 Korea Floating Wind, our floating offshore wind project with OW Ocean Winds, has secured its EIA approval from the Ministry of Environment and now advances closer towards construction. 👏 Congratulations to all the team involved in delivering this significant milestone, which caps off 12 months of onsite monitoring campaigns and in-depth consultations with local communities, stakeholders and fisheries. How to scale up early-mover supply of renewable hydrogen with early-mover demand in Europe? Norway has among the best conditions for producing renewable hydrogen and is close to the European market. European industry is today using large amounts of grey hydrogen and is required to replace at least 42% of this with renewable hydrogen by 2030. But time is running short, it is urgent to realize the most mature renewable hydrogen projects to get production online in time before the 2030 requirements kick in. Men da må det bli fart på oppskalering gjennom å få på plass modne «early mover» prosjekter. Spennende debatt i regi av Nordic Energy Research under Arendalsuka.   Hvordan kan Narvik benytte VM i alpint i 2029 som et springbrett for grønn industriutvikling? Dette spørsmålet stilte Narvik kommune med en engasjert ordfører Rune Edvardsen i spissen. Gjennom vårt storskala hydrogenprosjekt i Narvik ønsker Aker Horizons å bidra til langsiktig verdiskapning i regionen. NTNU Energy inviterte sentrale aktører en to-timers brainstorming under Arendalsuka om hvordan Norge best kan bidra til økt energisikkerhet i Europa og grep vi bør gjøre i Norge for en trygg energiforsyning. Diskusjonen tok utgangspunkt i tre råd:    1. Øk den fornybare energiproduksjonen hånd i hånd med energieffektivisering og utvikling av infrastruktur 2. Gjør verdikjedene fra naturgass utslippsfrie før 2050 og for nye felt fra 2040. 3. Samarbeid med Europa for store infrastrukturprosjekter innen CCS, hydrogen og offshore nett. Tydelige råd, men det er behov for raske og kunnskapsbaserte beslutninger for å få fart på utviklingen. Mange prosjekter står klare, men næringsliv, myndigheter og forskningsmiljøer må i større grad jobbe sammen for å sikre effektiv realisering av disse. Aker Horizons released its second quarter 2024 results today, reporting:  ➡ Net capital employed at NOK 7.1 billion, an increase of NOK 1.9 billion from Q1, mainly driven by a gain from the Aker Carbon Capture-SLB transaction  ➡ Cash position of NOK 3.1 billion and an undrawn credit facility of EUR 500 million, giving available liquidity of NOK 8.8 billion   What were the main developments that marked our portfolio in the quarter? ✅ Aker Carbon Capture ASA completed the transaction to combine its carbon capture business with SLB, with ACC ASA receiving NOK 4.1 billion in cash consideration ✅ Mainstream Renewable Power delivered on its strategy in Australia and Sweden, while the Andes Renovables platform in Chile maintained positive commercial margins ✅ Aker Horizons Asset Development made progress on key projects and continued to explore data center opportunities for sites in Northern Norway Tune in to our presentation at 08.30 am CEST where Aker Horizons’ CEO Kristian Røkke, CFO Kristoffer Dahlberg and Mainstream Renewable Power CEO Mary Quaney will present the main developments in the second quarter 👇 https://lnkd.in/dWxmm8Zk

Tailwind in Sweden! Mainstream Renewable Power and Freja Offshore with important progress 🌬️in Sweden! The County Administrative Board of Västra Götaland, proposes Government approval of the Freja´s application to build the 2.5 GW Mareld floating offshore wind farm, outside Lysekil. Freja Offshore is a joint venture between Mainstream Renewable Power and Swedish company Hexicon, and when fully developed expected to deliver 12 TWh electricity every year to meet the rapidly increasing demand for renewable power in Sweden. https://lnkd.in/dnjRkgNc
