Congratulations to Hyundai Engineering & Steel Industries and Jeonnam Offshore Wind Power Co. Ltd on successfully installing all foundations for Jeonnam 1, South Korea's first commercial offshore wind farm! We are proud to have contributed to this milestone by designing a bespoke monopile gripper, marking our first project in the South Korean offshore wind market. This lightweight gripper was tailored to unlock the operational potential of The Hyundai Frontier, designed specifically for installation at keel level. Despite a tight 9-month timeline, we worked closely with South Korean manufacturer Sambo C.M.C.  providing technical support and fabrication management to ensure delivery within time and budget. We wish Jeonnam 1 continued success with the remaining installation and look forward to sharing more innovations at the #AsiaOffshoreWindDay in Busan September 3rd. How can experienced engineering designers strengthen their communication skills while driving innovation? By leading hands-on, creative experiences! Girish Malage, a Designer at TWD, recently hosted a Prototyping Workshop for his fellow engineers and designers. The team discovered just how fun and effective building physical models can be for communicating design decisions. Using simple materials, they quickly constructed an offshore crane prototype, making it easy to explore how components work together and showing how prototyping makes design discussions more tangible. Leading practical workshops that stimulate ingenuity is one way TWD team members are empowered to develop their interpersonal abilities. Are you ready to improve your communication skills and lead with impact? Discover how you can develop yourself and add value to an innovative team: https://bit.ly/4fPd3PM #TWDTeam #TWDLife

Congratulations on Moray West hitting the halfway point in the turbine installation! Earlier this year, TWD assisted OW Ocean Winds in transporting an additional 8 XXL monopiles across three shipments from Spain to Scotland. This was in addition to the 48 monopiles we had previously helped OW Ocean Winds deliver to Scotland. For the Spain-to-Scotland trip, three smaller vessels were used. Our engineers designed new grillages to account for the variations in vessel frame spacing, enabling the reuse of our universal seafastening cradles. The universal cradles facilitate efficient loading and unloading operations using SPMTs, eliminating the need for cranes. Our engineering team ensured efficient and sustainable transportation for OW Ocean Winds. We extend our best wishes to the Moray West Wind Farm for its future operations. Understanding and Managing Pile Run: Insights from TWD's Latest Article Pile run is a serious issue in offshore wind farm installations, especially in areas with soft soil. Our most recent article, “Understanding Pile Run and How to Mitigate Risks” discusses the causes and consequences of pile driving, including exceeding target depth and equipment damage. It also covers the role of soil resistance and the limitations of SRD curves in predicting driveability. Learn about effective management strategies, including innovative equipment such as Pile Run Parachutes. While predicting pile run is complex, understanding and addressing its implications are critical to successful offshore wind projects. Read on to see how TWD's expertise can help you address pile run issues and optimize mitigation measures for your next offshore wind project:https://bit.ly/46Ey1g7 #OffshoreWind #Innovation #MethodEngineering #PileRun

At TWD, we welcome every team member to bring their whole selves to their job, including the causes they hold dear. Through our "TWD Cares" program, we sponsor initiatives that matter to our colleagues. 🚴♂️ For the second year in a row, TWD sponsored three sporty and mission-driven colleagues and two of their friends to take on the Alpe D’HuZes, a challenging Alpine cycling ascent that raises money for cancer research. Arend, Carlo, and Eilidh went the extra mile—literally. They collectively cycled an impressive 470 kilometers (about the length of New York State) and played a big part in Alpe D’HuZes raising a remarkable €1,8 million! 🙌 In typical TWD fashion, TWD colleagues rallied to support our cyclists and the cause. After work and on weekends, they trained and cheered from the sidelines, making this a true team effort. Find a fulfilling career with supportive colleagues where you can contribute to making the world a better place! Excited to share our latest success at TWD! We partnered with Shinfox Far East to design a Jacket Flange Lifting Tool (JFLT) and Pin Pile Lifting Tool (PPLT) for the TPC Offshore Wind Farm in Taiwan. Our innovative JFLT design, with a 3000t WLL, includes rotating clamps for secure lifting and an integrated spreader beam with a catcher for precise placement. We also developed a dedicated transport frame and conducted load tests to ensure safety and reliability. The PPLT, with a 800t WLL, had a strict delivery timeline. TWD addressed this by adapting the design to match component procurement times, and providing procurement and fabrication assistance. This design includes a stabbing frame to ensure a smooth landing on the pin pile This project exemplifies our commitment to innovative solutions. Props to the entire team for delivering engineering excellence! And we thank Hydrauvision for the great collaboration. Interested in the Jacket Flange Lifting Tool?
