The Maritime Awards Gala 2024, held this November 4th, will once again celebrate the most innovative companies, people and projects our sector has to offer. This year Royal Bodewes, one the Netherlands’ oldest shipyards and long-standing NNPC member, is in the running for the Maritime Achievement Award 🏆, which acknowledges an accomplishment that served to increase the sector’s visibility. We are of course wishing them the best of luck during the award ceremony! Royal Bodewes is nominated for the award alongside Tegenlicht, the famous documentary series by Dutch network VPRO. The reason for this is that the program featured the shipyard earlier this year. The episode followed the construction of a top of the line ship for a Taiwanese company and used this event to examine the various difficulties in the Dutch shipbuilding sector and how we might reconquer our market share and almost-lost “Hollands Glorie” (Dutch glory). It’s a must-see look into the current state of our shipyards and you can rewatch the full episode, called “Dwarse Schipbouwers”, in Dutch here on the VPRO Tegenlicht site 🎥 https://lnkd.in/eSJCc9Sn #NNPC #RoyalBodewes #Tegenlicht #VPRO #MaritimeAwardsGala
