The global seeds company #Hazera recently opened its new high-tech R&D greenhouse in the #Netherlands, marking a key step in its goal to become a leader in the high-tech tomato industry. The facility aims to enhance Hazera's research capabilities, focusing on developing tomato varieties with strong disease resistance high yield and excellent taste. Hazera has been active in the #Dutch #agrifood ecosystem for more than two decades. The company is dedicated to developing improved varieties of vegetable crops and to producing, processing, marketing and selling a broad range of vegetable #seeds. Its products and services are the basis for the business activities of professional growers and plant raisers all over the world. The Dutch & Japanese Trade Federation #Dujat recently held its annual December Dinner marking the longstanding economic ties between #Japan and the #Netherlands. Dujat has been actively promoting trade and investment opportunities between the countries for 40 years, while the ties between the nations go back centuries. The Netherlands is the fourth-largest destination for Japanese investment in Europe and there are approximately 700 Japanese companies operating in the Netherlands. In 2024, #NFIA and #InvestinHolland supported several Japanese companies in their expansion to and in the Netherlands. Japanese businesses that chose to expand operations to the Netherlands included the high tech company Sumitomo Heavy Industries, and the agrifood innovator DAIZ Engineering. Also, Mitsubishi announced plans to build a new hydrogen electrolyzer in the Netherlands. In the coming year, the strong Japan-Netherlands bond will be showcased during Expo 2025 in Osaka, where the Netherlands participation carries the theme: 'Creating a New Dawn Together on Common Ground'.
