Less than a year until the European Accessibility Act (EAA) comes into full effect. The clock is ticking, and if you're a business operating in the EU or delivering products or services to the EU market, it's time to make accessibility a top priority! The EAA is groundbreaking legislation by the European Parliament that makes products and services accessible to all EU citizens, including those with disabilities. This includes websites, mobile apps, physical devices, e-commerce platforms, and more. The goal is to ensure that everyone can participate fully in society and the economy regardless of their abilities. While many businesses are familiar with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) by W3C, the EAA extends far beyond these. It covers a wide range of areas, including: consumer electronics and appliances, banking services, telecommunications and transportation services. It's a comprehensive approach that requires businesses to look at their products and services from every angle.
