Chris Antonopoulos, CEO, Lekela Power (an Infinity Power company), was a part of the Africa Climate Summit (ACS) 2023 held in Nairobi, where he took part in a panel discussion on ‘100% Renewable Energy for Africa – A Pathway to Sustainable Development’.   The event brought together influential figures from across the region to discuss Africa's renewable energy future. As a part of the panel, Antonopoulos shared the stage with eminent leaders, such as Hon.Davis Chirchir, Cabinet Secretary in charge of Energy and Petroleum in Kenya, Hon. Ibrahim Matola, Minister of Energy, Malawi, Hon. Mawaunyo Mila Aziable, Minister of Energy and Mines, Togo, Wendy E. Hughes, World Bank, Regional Director, Infrastructure in Eastern and Southern Africa, and Jonas Moberg, CEO, The Green Hydrogen Organization.   The panel highlighted the critical need for Africa to prioritize renewable energy deployment as over half of the continent's population currently lacks access to electricity. With projections suggesting that more than 600 million people in Sub-Saharan Africa will remain without electricity access by 2030 due to population growth, the panel emphasized on the need for tripling the pace of electrification.   Successful case studies, including Infinity Power projects (previously owned by Lekela Power) in Egypt, Senegal, and South Africa , demonstrating the effective deployment of renewable energy were also discussed, along with policies and financing mechanisms to support the rapid adoption of renewable energy technologies across the continent.   Chris Antonopoulos' participation at ACS 2023 underscored the paramount importance of renewable energy in Africa's sustainable development journey and highlighted the developments and collaborations that are key to realizing the vision of 100% renewable energy and universal electricity access for all Africans by 2030.   #InfinityPower #LekelaPower #RenewableEnergy #CleanEnergy #ACS2023 #AfricaClimateSummit
