One of the most inspiring things about working at Lab is getting to know members of the team and their stories. We all come from such different places and backgrounds, and there’s never a shortage of new people to get to know. Like Elinor, who joined us a software engineer earlier this year.    From the Mediterranean shores of Cyprus to the innovative landscape of the Netherlands, Elinor's path has been one of exploration and growth. Her fascination with computers began at an early age, playing with educational games and tinkering with software on her family’s computer. This curiosity evolved into a love for coding, propelling her to study Computer Science and Engineering at TU Delft.    However, Elinor's journey took an unexpected turn when she embraced an opportunity to pursue a software engineering career at Nielsen, redirecting her path from university. "I was ready to dive into the industry and apply my skills on real-life problems," she explains. This bold decision marked the beginning of her professional career in software development, where she quickly excelled and deepened her passion for creating quality code.    Joining Lab Digital has been a transformative experience for Elinor, allowing her to thrive in a smaller, more intimate company. "Seeing the faces of employees on the website impressed me. It showed me Lab Digital values people as individuals," she reflects. The company’s culture of openness and support resonated with her values, providing the perfect environment for her to grow both personally and professionally.    From the start of her new role at Lab Digital, Elinor has embraced new technologies, exploring the intricacies of microservices and modern development practices. Her passion for code quality and process improvement is forever growing, drawing inspiration from Extreme Programming and its principles, such as Test-Driven Development, which she eagerly advocates for and applies to her work.    Outside of her professional life, Elinor has a deep love for music and writing, finding joy in singing, playing guitar, and crafting poetry. She balances her love for technology with her passion for creative expression, ensuring a well-rounded approach to life.    Looking to the future, Elinor aspires to combine her technical expertise with her natural affinity for people, aiming for a role that bridges engineering and management.
