The excellent performance in Türkiye, impacted by the devaluation of the exchange rate against the euro, was not enough to offset the decline in the Nordic & Baltic result. Cementir launches today a new Aalborg White Cement with a lower carbon footprint, D-Carb®, which presents a 15 percent reduction in CO2 emissions when compared with CEM I 52.5R. D-Carb® is the first white cement in the market to match a lower-carbon footprint with high performances at early ages. It is available in European markets before its global expansion. D-Carb® supports a smooth transition for industrial users towards more sustainable finished products while maintaining high quality standards similar to Aalborg White CEM I 52.5R, especially its excellent performances at early ages comparable to CEM I, meeting strict construction timelines. Inheriting the extra properties of Aalborg White® clinker, including extremely low alkali and low chloride content, D-Carb® ensures reliable quality and durability of finished products, while its pure, very light limestone selection enhances and stabilizes whiteness. Cementir Holding obtains the validation of both its near and long-term decarbonization targets by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) aligned with the 1.5°C framework scenario. In addition, SBTi also approved Cementir’s overall net-zero emissions target by 2050. “We are proud that Cementir has joined the select group of companies whose decarbonization targets have been judged by SBTi to be consistent with the goal of limiting global warming to below 1.5 degrees.
