The session covers runway incursion risks, effective prevention strategies, and best practices in safety management. Participants will learn about the role of ANSPs in monitoring and mitigating runway incursions, technology solutions, and collaboration between different aviation stakeholders. Pleased to welcome Tanja Grobotek and Bart Nicolai from CANSO at #EIH the EUROCONTROL Innovation Hub!   We had the opportunity to discuss CANSO’s expectations regarding European #ATM research and innovation as well as our involvement in SESAR, the pan-European research programme, and our focus areas, which cover:   📌 Trajectory-based operations #TBO 📌 Network management 📌 Integration of new entrants #UAS #HAO 📌 Accelerating the implementation of tangible solutions   We also gave our guests a tour of our unique simulation facilities, including en-route, tower and cockpit simulators.   We also presented our simulation platform modernisation programme, which has recently kicked off with the goal of creating a modular and open simulator that fosters connections within the aviation community.   Thanks a lot to both of our guests for a constructive exchange, and also for taking part in the Innovation MeetUp, held at EIH where Bart Nicolai presented CANSO’s innovation initiatives and participated in the “Innovation by ANSPs” panel!   Looking forward to continuing our collaboration!

This frequency, reserved exclusively for emergency communications, is vital to ensuring swift responses to distress situations. The inappropriate use of this frequency may pose a serious risk to flight safety, delaying critical assistance to those in need. We urge all aviation stakeholders to carefully consider the importance of safeguarding this frequency and to take immediate steps to ensure it is used strictly for its intended purposes. Some more updates from CANSO Africa Conference 2024: - Five ladies from different countries came together to discuss CANSO’s GreenATM environmental accreditation for ANSPs. During this session, they explored how regional members can support each other in achieving this accreditation, and how this collaboration could position Africa as a leader in #sustainable aviation. By: Michelle Bishop, Johanna Morobane, Joyce Asante, Anne Gitau, Flora Mwanshinga - We also explored how to improve air traffic flow management (ATFM) across Africa. With contributions from key stakeholders, including the African Airlines Association, ATNS and ASECNA this session highlighted the need for better coordination and introduced the CANSO OiS as a tool to improve collaboration across the region.
