🌿🛰️ Machine learning and bird watching? 🐦 Our latest study employed a 50-layer convolutional neural network on drone-captured RGB imagery to detect nests of black-headed gulls and common terns. This high-resolution mapping during breeding season was followed by a multispectral NDVI analysis three months later, revealing increased vegetation growth around nutrient-enriched nesting sites. The data illustrates a clear link between avian activity, guano deposition, and localized soil fertility. Espescially at the clubs were birds come together to socialize.
