One of our foremost objectives as a company is to reduce port vessel time – a goal which cuts costs for our customers, ramps up our already high efficiency standards – and contributes to our industry-leading decarbonisation goals by reducing carbon emissions in ports. It’s an objective that we are achieving with a highly motivated, expert global team – as in the case of APM Terminals Poti where a massive 15-hour reduction in port stay was achieved for one customer, and potentially many more, through co-creation and collaboration. Find out how we did it here: https://bit.ly/4gc8hfK

There was very little bounce left in the destitute poodle when she was found wandering in our terminal in Costa Rica. The young dog was emaciated, in pain, thirsty and hungry. Busy terminals are no place for vulnerable animals. But, despite this, 'Colochos' – or Curly – as she became known, could not have come to a better place in her hour of need. The APM Terminals Moin environmental team knew she needed more than a meal and a bath. According to the veterinarian on site, she was suffering from a ruptured trachea and a fractured spine. Our team ensured she received medical attention, and found her a forever family. Curly is just one of the many animals, domestic and wild, that our teams care for as part of our commitment to the environment, and to lifting the standards of responsibility for the people and animals with whom we strive to be a good neighbour. #apmterminalsmoin #Liftingstandards #goodneighbours

“Business as usual” – that was the message from APM Terminals’ Pier 400 Los Angeles when the terminal received a visit from a revolutionary vessel, the Alette Maersk, which. when running on green methanol, saves up to approximately 280 tons of CO2 per day compared to a sister vessel sailing on heavy fuels. The “usual” part is because the team at Pier 400 has long moved cargo with a lower greenhouse emissions footprint than the conventional approach. Comparing data from 2019 to last year, APM Terminals Pier 400 has achieved an almost 50% reduction in air pollutants and greenhouse gases produced by conventional container handling equipment – which is good news for the environment, and particularly for communities in the surrounding area. This reinforces the positive at-sea efforts of APM Terminals’ customers, including A.P. Moller - Maersk. “Pier 400 is one of the most environmentally advanced terminals in the United States,” said APM Terminals Pier 400 Managing Director, Jon Poelma. “We are on track to achieve zero emissions in our operations ahead of the 2030 deadlines set forth in the Clean Air Action Plan.” #alettemaersk #energytransition #decarbonisation

Gateway Terminals India (GTI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Port Authority JNPA- Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority to initiate the development of Shore Power for vessels calling at the terminal. The agreement, signed Thursday by GTI – also known as APM Terminals Mumbai – fast-tracks progress in achieving APM Terminals’ strategic objective of providing the “Best Product to Shipping Lines” and to be fully net-zero by 2040. It’s just the latest example of how we are lifting the standard of responsibility globally by saving vessel fuel consumption in port and eliminating associated air pollution. #JNPA #ShorePowerSupply #decarbonisation Gateway Terminals India Pvt. APM Terminals CEO, Keith Svendsen, met with Suez Canal Authority (SCA) Chairman, Admiral Osama Rabie and Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dein, in Egypt last week following the successful co-creation of quick sail protocols.      The collaboration contributed to a significant reduction in time at port for customer vessels, down by almost 25%. Reducing port time is a key focus for APM Terminals in its drive to lift the standards of efficiency throughout its portfolio.        Svendsen said SCCT was ‘remarkable’ in its ability to enhance customer experience at the terminal – one of the group's eight transhipment hubs. SCCT will play an increasingly important role in net-zero global connectivity.

In all our terminals around the world, we take our responsibilities seriously, continuously lifting the standards of responsibility, including standards of living. This is true not only for people, but for the animals rural communities rely on. Animal health services is a part of APM Terminals Pipavav, India's ‘Pashu Uday’ project to support sustainable livestock development in around 45 local villages surrounding the port. Since 2016, the project has addressed the need for medical care and humane treatment for sheep, goats, horses, cows and buffalo, which in turn benefits the earning capabilities of local families. Thanks to the provision of a mobile veterinarian clinic, health camps, and education, the terminal – up to January of this year – had treated more than 37,864 livestock and vaccinated and dewormed more than one million farm animals. Says Sanjay Singh, HSSE Head at APM Terminals Pipavav, “To ensure sustainability, we will gradually handover to community members through a Charitable Trust that provides local youth with training to make careers from caring for animals, creating entrepreneurial opportunities and rewarding and valuable work.”

A newly located express lane for reefer trucks at APM Terminals Moin, which minimizes time spent in truck processing from 40 minutes to just 4 was inspired by formula one racing. Because, as all truck drivers know, hanging around is the worst. That’s why it’s our goal to maximise efficiency. Lifting the standards with inspiration from the race track, the crew at Costa Rica are now processing up to 120 reefer truck transactions with a nine-fold increase in efficiency thanks to 'pit crew heroes' like Ricardo Alexis Alvarado Ruiz (actual job title: supervisor at APM Terminals Moin). Reduced port hours – that’s the result of lifting the standards of efficiency, as highlighted by three key terminals in our portfolio: Algeciras, Spain; Tangier Container Terminal; and Tangier M2, Morocco.   Together, the hub terminals of APM Terminals will play a key role in the A.P. Moller - Maersk network of the future, linking cargo across the globe with ease. “In recent years, our hub has experienced impressive growth, doubling its capacity from 6 million TEU in 2019 to an expected 12 million TEU by the end of this year. This expansion, along with our ongoing investments in automation, digitization, and operational efficiency, has resulted in a 20% reduction in port hours, ensuring faster and more efficient service for our customers,” shares Keld Pedersen, Head of West Mediterranean Terminals. #efficiency #portterminals APM Terminals MedPort Tangier - TM2 APM Terminals Tangier

The Callao Multipurpose North Terminal, operated under concession by APM Terminals, received 780 ships in the first half of the year, an increase of nearly 15% in import volumes compared to the same period last year. APM Terminals Callao has lifted the standards of efficiency by increasing its containerized cargo operation speed by 11%, without affecting safety and quality standards. “We will continue to implement technological and operational improvements to further reduce unloading times and increase our capacity to handle higher cargo volumes,” said Fernando Fauche, Commercial Director, APM Terminals Callao.
