🚀 Day 4 and Day 5 of our 5-Day Free AI in Every City Program Organized by DSNai - Data Science Nigeria 🚀 On Day 4 & 5, our learners delved into the world of Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) in Power BI Desktop. They explored fundamental DAX functions such as SUM, SUMX, AVERAGE, and AVERAGEX, essential for performing basic data aggregation and arithmetic operations. Additionally, they were introduced to the CALENDARAUTO function for automatic date management. The session covered creating new columns, measures, and tables, helping learners understand their differences and practice basic arithmetic operations using DAX functions to manipulate and analyze data effectively. 📊 The learners also focused on enhancing skills in formatting Power BI reports and utilizing different visuals for data representation. Participants learned how to format reports for improved readability and presentation. They explored various visuals and slicers to create interactive and dynamic reports. The session also included training on the Merge Query function, which enables combining data from different sources for comprehensive analysis. Learners created new entities within Power BI, including columns, measures, and tables, integrating these elements into existing data models. Day 2 & Day 3 of Data Analysis with Power BI 📊 Data Import, Cleaning, and Transformation: Over the course of Day 2 and Day 3, our learners delved into various aspects of data analysis with Power BI. They began by mastering data import techniques and exploring the robust features of Power Query for data cleaning and transformation. This included resolving inconsistencies, managing null values, and applying user-friendly value replacements. Learners also learned how to profile columns, change data types, rename objects, and pivot data to ensure their datasets were ready for deep analytical tasks. 🔄 Building Semantic Models: A key focus was on simplifying complex data models using star schemas to create efficient semantic models. Learners studied the terminology and implementation of star schemas, understanding the importance of correct data granularity for performance and usability. They also learned to create common date tables, configure one-to-many, and many-to-many relationships, and resolve circular relationships. By the end of these sessions, they were equipped to improve the performance of their Power BI models and make a simple visualization from sample data.
