Good Morning - Farringford Estate website is down at the moment. If you were planning to book a visit for later this year, a holiday cottage or just wanted to find out more about Tennyson's former home then please do give the office a call on 01983 752500. Tennyson was Queen Victoria's Poet Laureate and many influential Victorians visited the Tennyson's at Farringford. You can find out all about family life, who visited and enjoy the restoration of the much loved family home on a pre booked house tour. Ticket price is £14.50 and this also includes the gardens but places are limited. Tours can be pre booked - Tuesday 29th April 2025 to Thursday 25th September 2025 - Tues/Wed/Thur only. If you would like to bring a group to our award winning gardens or to the house then please do give the office a call to discuss your preferred dates. Our holiday cottages are open all year and can offer the perfect place to explore the Isle of Wight. We do not stick to strict check in days - we can offer stays from 3 nights or more(subject to availability). Many of our guests return year after year. Some of the cottages are pet friendly, some are not. We have a tennis court and guests in the cottages benefit from the parkland walk and award winning gardens during their stay. Our award winning gardens are open to to the public Tues to Saturday from 01/04/2025 - 25th October 2025 - Tues/Wed/Thur/Fri & Sat and there is no need to pre book - you can pay £4.50 at the ticket office. If you are likely to be a regular visitor you may benefit from purchasing a garden pass. Shout is a free, confidential, 24/7 text messaging support service for anyone who is struggling to cope. It won’t show up on your phone bill. - Kooth - an online counselling and emotional well-being support service providing young people aged 11-25 years (up to their 26th birthday) with a safe and secure means of accessing support with their emotional health and wellbeing needs from a professional team of qualified counsellors. - Safe Havens - there are several Safe Havens across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight which provide emotional and practical support to adults experiencing a mental health crisis. You can get support from staff and volunteers by telephone, email, text or face to face during evenings, weekends and bank holiday. - NHS Talking Therapies (previously iTalk) - a service for adults in Hampshire and IOW that offers a wide range of treatments, in a wide range of formats.

All hospitals across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight are currently seeing a surge in people needing care, as we face one of our busiest winter weeks. Hampshire Hospitals, who run Basingstoke and Winchester hospitals, have declared a critical incident due to the sustained pressures, which allows them to put measures in place to ensure services continue to run as safely as possible. There is currently a high number of unwell people needing hospital care, including with flu and other winter bugs. All NHS organisations across Hampshire and Isle of Wight are working together to ensure local people continue to get the best possible care. We are asking people to play their part by ensuring they are using the most appropriate services for their health needs. Some quick tips to help us help you as effectively as possible: - Get vaccinated, it is not too late to get your free flu or COVID-19 vaccination if you are eligible. - Remember the Emergency Department is for emergencies. - If you need urgent care, but it is not life-threatening, contact 111 first for advice on the best place to go. - Minor injuries or illnesses don’t need the Emergency Department and you’ll often be seen more quickly at a dedicated minor injuries unit or urgent treatment centre. 111 can even book you in if you call them first. - Your local pharmacist can offer you instant advice and treatment for a range of minor illnesses and ailments - The NHS 111 mental health triage team provides mental health support 24/7 - Make use of online resources, like the NHS website, to check symptoms and get advice if you can.
