Just an absolute crisis the Biden admin made for everyone last year was resuming student debt payments *before* the courts ruled on debt relief. The White House poorly justified resuming payments by insisting most would simply get relief. They rolled the dice on courts and lost.

Student debt payments have been on for a year, but a missed payment wouldn’t have hurt your credit—until now. That grace period protection is slated to end at the end of September. Meanwhile, nobody can enroll in a payment plan because of legal fights. Biden should pause loans.
