Happy Anniversary to Me
Good morning WA family! Well today is my 27th Wedding anniversary, but me and my husband have been together 32 years.
I am a little hesitate about sharing one of our gifts we received yesterday. Our family friends were sneaky, planning for big surprise before we left for our trip this weekend.
Our family and friends, called me told me to meet them at an address that I didn't know who lives there.
Went to the address, and pulled up to this beautiful home immediately told my kids I love it and it sits to itself with little walking paths to the nearby lake.
This woman I never met before meeting me outside, introduce herself but left out what she does for a living until we did a walkthrough of the house. Halfway through the tour of the house, I said stop didn't call a realtor and not interested in buying aa house.
My kids spoke up said Mamma, finish the tour of house, doesn't hurt to look at it.
Said Okay fine, and asked if I could take pictures because is beautiful house and I could post these pictures on home screen on computer as a goal to reach with my business. They said sure take as many pictures as you like.
This has always been a dream of mine to own my own house with personal in ground pool instead having to swim in community public pool.
The office, that is setup, love that the office is setup where you can take a break from work, and view the outdoors be reminded what you are working for with that private pool.
Always want a big master bathroom and love the style of this master bathroom.
The dining room looks amazing.
The kitchen has a lot more room than I have been used too.
I have always loved to have a sitting area with a fireplace during the winters, living in Florida not many freezing temperatures.
They asked me to take a sit on the relaxing recliner sofa. My mom asked me how I like the house, as didn't take pictures of bedrooms yet because I taught someone was living in the house.
It started by my husband getting on his knee, asked me to marry him again and I said what we already married. He replied will you stop asking so many questions, I told him you know I would never get married again as we always joke around. I said yes, he presented to me a jewelry box, I opened in it was no jewelry but instead a key.
When I see the key, I was puzzled and confused. My dad stood up, begin to speak. He said Jannette "I know we were strict on you growing up, and you suffered abuse from my hands, but I am asking you to forgive me. My dad was trying to fight back tears as he spoke, I stopped him from speaking. Told my dad even though the abuse still haunts me to this day sometimes, but you are my dad, and I can never replace you. Yes, I will forgive you and start spending more time with you and mom, as in past 30 years you my parents have been absent from my life, your grandkids, and now your great grandkids.
My siblings and friends started making speeches with bottles of champaign, at the end of all the speeches they yelled surprise the key you hold in your hand is the key to your new home which is this one.
I just started crying, they said no crying be happy. Begin to tell me how they started planning this 5 years ago and my dad came up with the idea. When we were traveling for work, they started building this house 3 years ago. After the house completely built, they had it valued and the value if want to sell today is estimated at $539,000.
When they told me this I was in belief, my mom spoke up said every one of us standing here chipped in to help build, the only thing left to pay on the building of the house is $102,000 so what we are saying would you accept the house and pay the $102,000. I couldn't say no, said yes and my sisters, cousins, and friends said glad you said yes because you only owe $100. To exchange ownership with deeds money got to be exchanged, gave them $100 bill started signing the deed.
Over Champaign I asked how they afforded it; they said its cheaper to build yourself and it helps to have long term friends that know how to build houses. In walked my old friend of high school with his wife that was my best friend.
The house is 4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms.
The master bedroom is big enough to put my desktop computer in and work from the bedroom as well.
The guest bathroom.
My dad asked me to take a walk with him, we followed the walking trail through the housing community to a lake. Ask Dad again how this was possible, he said 5 years ago he bought a scratch off ticket and won a million dollars, after taxes he banked little of $600,000 and the bought another ticket won $850,000, he saved that one to. He told me and your mom didn't need so we decided to save and taught about leaving in inheritance but after talking with lawyer and we were afraid your sisters might knock you out and fight to keep it all you wouldn't get. You are being stubborn like me, you would never take a dollar from me and your mom even if you needed help, so our lawyer said what would she being happy with. That is where the idea come up a house, she has always rented places to stay, and she isn't too big on fancy cars lavish lifestyle like her twin.
We hugged for could few minutes by that lake, and then he said now I expect to get some fishing done at this lake. I just laughed, said of course and what we going to do about turtles and gators, his reply we eat them too.
Some of you might be wondering if I will still continue my online businesses, and answer is simple. Even though the house is paid for you still have your taxes to pay and I still have medical bills to pay from last year when I had my stroke and being life flighted, the life flight bill alone was $72, 800. 00 (WOW).
Now this blog post as been typed since 2AM this morning, as not sure if should share how family and close friends come together to surprise me.
Oh, almost forgot, we are planning on renewing our wedding vows next year as my family didn't attend the wedding and my dad wants to walk me down the aisle now. As next year February 17th will be on Saturday again like it was in 96 so everyone can attend. We are thinking of a beach renewal wedding or by the lake to my beautiful new home.
Have A Good Weekend everyone.
Cheers
Jannette

WOW! Happy anniversary!
What an amazing story. I love your house the layout is awesome and the grounds are nice private and the pool really will be sweet.
It is a necessary to have a pool in Florida .
I lived in Ft Myers Florida for a little while Its great in the winter but in the summer it is unbearable hot.
Thanks for sharing even though I was about blubbering. 😂
Congrats again and happy anniversary!
Chet
Yes, Florida gets hot. I'm thankful they put the screen up over the pool as when I want to go for swim don't won't to find a gator in the pool. It wants to be long, and we be able to swim every day if we like. I find swimming relaxing and good exercise for me. Think will have a house party when I get back, I know the kids and grandkids be diving in.
I appreciate that, have been told that should consider being an author of books as when I take my time and write short stories am very good. I used to write essay papers and help other students because they were not good at writing. Sometimes I get in hurry and forget to proofread like I did this one. If I took time to proofread, then I probably would have not hit publish.
