I am excited to announce that yet again we are offering a new round of internships here at Avertium! The job posting specifically calls out Guadalajara, but we are open to remote for some internships here in Mexico. One of the interns will actually report directly to me, specifically looking for someone who is interested in data science and machine learning. Over the course of the last few months, my wife and I had the honor to work with Salvador Rodríguez, Fatima Rodríguez Giles, David Alejandro Ramirez Carmona and Sarah Muriel to help launch the first hacker conference in Guadalajara Mexico- HackGDL. We've had so much fun working with them both-- as their passion and love for community building has been so very evident. They took a proposal from several years ago and they brought it to life in such a uniquely Tapatio awesome way (mariachi ftw!). It was amazing to see the community come together from all of Mexico to help this event. From Héctor Cuevas Cruz and his help with PumaHat Cybersecurity Team and the Pwntacles to run the lockpick village, to the awesome CTF, to the amazing badge built by Electronic Cats, and to all the very many speakers from Mexico and the US (Michael McCabe) who came to make this event so magical. It was also so very amazing to me to see my old team again, as so many of them were presenting at the conference. Berenice F, 🦊 Iván Sánchez, Luis De la Rosa Etan Imanol Castro, Yael Basurto and even one of my students Edgar Castillo! The amount of progress and development they have each personally made in such short time is so utterly impressive.
