Colorful San Miguel This image beautifully showcases a quintessential corner of San Miguel de Allende, where vibrant colors and charming architecture come together to create a scene that feels both timeless and inviting. The warm orange and yellow tones of the buildings, contrasted by the lush greenery cascading down the wall, reflect the town’s love for bold hues that celebrate life. The large metal star sculpture in the foreground, likely inspired by the traditional “piñata” or the "Moorish lanterns" common in Mexican culture, adds a touch of artistic flair, symbolizing the town's deep-rooted artistic heritage. The cobblestone streets, wooden doors, and rustic lanterns evoke a sense of history, while the lemon tree brings a fresh, natural element to the urban setting. It’s a perfect representation of San Miguel’s unique blend of colonial charm, artistic expression, and the natural beauty that envelops the town. This spot feels like a peaceful escape, where you can sit on a bench, bask in the sunlight, and soak in the rich atmosphere that makes San Miguel so special. No more myths. Saturated fat and keto diet Personal Note: It is crucial to approach medical research with a critical eye, as findings can sometimes be misleading or deeply flawed. Research can be influenced by various factors such as study design, sample size, interpretation of results, and even funding sources. When evaluating claims—particularly those related to diet, cholesterol, and heart health—understanding the nuances of the research is essential. This is particularly important when considering popular diets like low-carb or ketogenic diets, where common myths, such as the link between saturated fat and high LDL cholesterol, may not hold up under closer scrutiny. Misinterpreting or accepting research at face value can lead to misguided health decisions with significant consequences. The video debunks the myth linking saturated fat to high LDL cholesterol on low-carb or ketogenic diets. It explains the significant increase in LDL levels on low-carb diets, especially in lean individuals. The inverse relationship between body mass index and LDL levels is highlighted, showing higher LDL in lean and metabolically healthy people. The possibility of high LDL on low saturated fat diets and the potential to lower LDL by increasing saturated fat intake are discussed. A meta-analysis reveals that LDL increases in lean individuals but not in overweight subjects, emphasizing that saturated fat may not be the primary driver of high LDL on low-carb diets. View the video here.  https://lnkd.in/e4hcz2kZ Highlights: 0:00 – Introduction to debunking the saturated fat myth on low-carb and ketogenic diets. 1:15 – Explanation of the context and magnitude of LDL increase on low-carb diets. 1:36 – Inverse association between body mass index and LDL cholesterol levels. 2:19 – High LDL on low saturated fat diets in a ketogenic context. 3:09 – Possibility of dropping LDL by increasing saturated fat intake. 3:50 – Meta-analysis showing LDL increases in lean individuals, not overweight subjects. #SanMiguelDeAllende #RetireMexico #AffordableAssistedLiving #MexicoCaregiving #DementiaCare #MemoryCare #AlzheimersCare #AssistedLiving #IndependentLiving #SeniorLivingMexico #HospiceCare #PalliativeCare #ContinuousCare #KetoDiet #SaturatedFatMyth #LDLCholesterol #HeartHealth #LowCarbLiving #NutritionScience

New AI Program from BU Researchers Could Predict Likelihood of Alzheimer’s Disease Boston University researchers have developed an AI model capable of predicting the likelihood of Alzheimer’s-associated dementia by analyzing speech patterns. This model, which utilizes machine learning, can determine with 78.5% accuracy whether a person with mild cognitive impairment will develop dementia within six years. The research leverages data from the Framingham Heart Study, analyzing speech content from interviews and combining it with basic demographic information. The AI's ability to predict dementia progression from speech alone—without requiring costly lab tests or brain imaging—could make cognitive impairment screening more accessible. This technology, if further developed, could allow for earlier intervention and monitoring, potentially through apps for remote assessments. The researchers aim to refine the model and explore its use in more natural conversations and additional data types, such as drawings and daily life patterns. The goal is to make dementia diagnosis more inclusive and available to those without access to specialized medical resources.
