Hull and Hearn were arrested

Wyoming cornerbacks Antonio Hull and Azizi Hearn were arrested on Wednesday, as reported by Davis Potter of the Casper Star-Tribune.

Potter reported that Hull was arrested for outstanding warrants related to fines while Hearn was booked on reckless driving and driving with a suspended license. Both were released on Thursday from the Albany County Detention Center. The team did not have a comment for Potter in connection to the misdemeanor arrests or the impact for Saturday’s game against UNLV.

Aside from the personal impact of being arrested, the Cowboys secondary could be affected by the situation if the two don’t suit up or are limited in playing time.

Hull, a senior who has missed a few games for personal reasons, has been a presence at cornerback for the last couple of seasons. His best season was in 2016 when he recorded 53 solo tackles.

Hearn, a transfer from Arizona, has seen action in three games and has seven total tackles. As a Wildcat, he did see action in eight games and had a wild fumble recovery for a score in a game against the Cal Bears.

Hearn is listed as a starter for Saturday night, while Hull sits behind Tyler Hall.

The Cowboys have struggled in the secondary, allowing 345 yards per game. That’s enough to put them at 126th in the nation.

One of the “keys to the game” is to stop the big plays for the secondary when Wyoming faces UNLV in the conference opener on Saturday. If the separate arrests of Hull and Hearn have any impact on playing time it could affect the outcome of the secondary play and possibly the game.

The two arrests follow the earlier felony arrest of another defensive back, freshman Allen Smith III. He was suspended indefinitely from the team after allegedly pointing a gun at two people he was within the parking lot of an apartment complex. Smith did not record any stats this season.
