About Bnxn
Bnxn's silky vocals and infectious melodies catapulted him from an upstart into a star in the Nigerian pop scene in the late 2010s. The singer/songwriter/producer’s soothing and catchy hooks—which fused Afropop melodies with R&B—made him the go-to choice for everyone from WizKid (“Mood”) to Blaqbonez (“Bling”) and LADIPOE (“Feeling”) in the 2020s. Bnxn, formerly known as Buju, was born Daniel Benson in 1997 in Akwa Ibom State and got his first taste of fame singing in church and school choirs. In 2018, he made his debut with “Catch a Vibe” and exploded with 2019’s “Spiritual”, featuring Zlatan. His impact on the country’s music scene led to a Rookie of the Year nomination at The Headies 2019 and a Revelation of the Year award at the 2020 City People Music Awards. In 2020, he signed a one-year deal with Grammy winner Burna Boy’s Spaceship Records, which released a remix of his 2019 single “L'enu”, featuring his new label boss. The 2021 Apple Music Africa Rising artist independently released his debut solo EP, Sorry I’m Late, in 2021, displaying his honeyed vocals and signature Afrobeats sound.
