About Bachman-Turner Overdrive

Originally known as Brave Belt, Bachman-Turner Overdrive was named after its frontmen, former Guess Who guitarist Randy Bachman and bassist C.F. Turner. ∙ They released six albums between 1973 and 1976, including five consecutive Gold-certified studio LPs and the Platinum compilation Best of B.T.O. (So Far). ∙ During their first year, they built a following by playing more than 300 shows. ∙ Their breakthrough album, Bachman-Turner Overdrive II, featured the band’s first Top 40 single (“Let It Ride”) and the classic-rock standard “Takin’ Care of Business.” ∙ In 1974, B.T.O. earned their first and only No. 1 hit with “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet,” a last-minute addition to their album Not Fragile. ∙ Little Richard performed a piano solo on their 1975 hit single “Take It Like a Man.” ∙ The band won three Juno Awards and was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2014.
