It’s common for a K-pop album to have a narrative concept tying its tracks together, but few are as explicit as ENHYPEN’s DARK MOON SPECIAL ALBUM 'MEMORABILIA'. The album is tied to the plot of Dark Moon, the ENHYPEN-affiliated supernatural manhwa, or comic, about a group of vampire boys whose lives are turned upside down when a mysterious new student shows up at their school. Each member of ENHYPEN inspired a character in the story, which has also played out across a web novel, music videos, and now its own dedicated soundtrack album. For the album, the seven-member group split up for their first-ever unit tracks: “Teeth” and “Lucifer”. The former has Jungwon, Heeseung, Sunoo and Ni-Ki singing about the monotony of life as a vampire, while the latter taps Jay, Jake and Sunghoon for a more stripped-down performance of immortal anguish (“My only wish/I just want to be normal”). “Scream” ends the album on an upbeat note, channelling ENHYPEN’s musical energy into a cathartic song about the exhilaration of racing ahead despite obstacles.
