📢 Plans Announced to Reinstate Malta's Commercial Court 🔎 The Commercial Court is a specialised court designed to handle disputes related to commercial matters, such as business transactions, contracts, and trade issues. Its primary goal is to provide faster and more efficient resolutions to these cases, ensuring that businesses can operate smoothly without unnecessary delays in the legal process. 🚀A few weeks ago, during an “open mic” event with the Żgħażagħ Laburisti in Valletta, Prime Minister Robert Abela engaged with young people on various topics and shared exciting news: the government plans to re-establish the Commercial Court as an independent entity. #Malta #CommercialCourt #EconomicGrowth #Business #Efficiency #FutureOfBusiness ▶️https://lnkd.in/d8Rd24jV 👉Follow Us Maltese-Spanish Chamber of Commerce

📢 Celebrating the protection of more than 3,600 unique products through quality schemes in the European Union, including Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) and Protected Geographical Indication (PGI). In countries where laws on geographical protection apply, only products that meet the various geographical and quality criteria can use the protected indication, these products must be registered.🍈🍅 🍇🍷Did you know? Three wines from Malta have been awarded the DOK (Denominazzjoni ta’ Oriġini Kontrollata) in english is Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) and IĠT (Indikazzjoni Ġeografika Tipika) in english is Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) designation. 🚀 These are the geographical indications from Malta registered in the EU: ✔️Malta or "from Malta" is a DOK (PDO) wine from the island of Malta, which is produced and packaged there with a maximum yield of 84-91 hectolitres/hectare. ✔️ Gozo or "from Gozo" (Maltese: Għawdex or "Ta' Għawdex") is a DOK (PDO) wine from the island of Gozo, with very similar requirements to those of "Malta". ✔️ Maltese Islands or "from the Maltese Islands" is an IĠT (PGI) wine from any of the islands for which higher yields than DOK wines of 120-125 hectolitres/hectare are permitted. #Malta #Wine #PDO #PGI #DOK #FoodEU #Protection #Qualityfood #Geography ▶️https://lnkd.in/d6z2yWFy ▶️https://lnkd.in/ekwkiPD8 ✔️Follow Us Maltese-Spanish Chamber of Commerce

👉 Did you know that October 14th is celebrated as the International Day of the Order of Malta? Established by the UN before the pandemic, this day aims to raise awareness about the humanitarian work of the Order of Malta. 🙌✨ 🔎 Connection with Malta: The presence of the Order on the island left a deep mark on the country’s history and culture. 🤝 🌍 The Order of Malta ruled the island of Malta from 1530 to 1798, a period of 268 years. During this time, the Order transformed the island into a strategic fortress and a center of power in the Mediterranean. Although their rule ended with the arrival of Napoleon, the heritage of the Order of Malta remains a significant part of Malta’s history and cultural identity. 🚩The similarity between the flag of the Order of Malta and the Maltese flag stems from this historical connection. However, each flag has its own meaning and specific design, even though they both share colors and the use of a cross as a key symbol. 💡 CURIOSITIES: - The Order of Malta is internationally recognized as a subject of international law, with its headquarters in Rome, and it has its own state-like organization and issuance of passports. - Although not a member state of the UN, it maintains diplomatic relations with over 100 countries and conducts humanitarian projects in more than 120 nations. #OrderOfMalta #InternationalDayOfTheOrderOfMalta #HumanitarianAid #HistoryOfMalta #Volunteering #History #InternationalRelations ▶️Follow us Maltese-Spanish Chamber of Commerce https://lnkd.in/gXeqv-Gf

Today is #WorldMentalHealthDay, 🌍 A day dedicated to global mental health education, awareness, and advocacy against social stigma. This day, first celebrated in 1992 thanks to the initiative of the World Federation for Mental Health, reminds us of the importance of openly discussing mental health and fighting against social stigma. ✨This year, the theme is “prioritizing mental health in the workplace”. It’s crucial to create work environments that support everyone’s mental well-being. A healthy workplace not only boosts productivity but also fosters a culture of support and understanding. #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthMatters #WorkplaceWellbeing
It’s perfectly okay to not feel okay at times. This #WorldMentalHealthDay, we are launching the EU Support Package on Stigma, developed with input from EU countries and stakeholders. It introduces several initiatives to enhance mental health: 🟩 An EU spotlight section in the WHO toolkit on stigma and discrimination; 🟩 A media awareness campaign on stigma (#InThisTogether); 🟩 A selection of best and promising practices to support actions by EU Member States and stakeholders on tackling stigma and discrimination; 🟩 A discussion paper on addressing stigma and discrimination. Mental health affects us all, and it’s essential to break through stigma and address discrimination surrounding it. ℹ️ https://europa.eu/!4VCfpN #HealthUnion #MentalHealth #EuropeanUnion

📊🌍 Malta's International Economic and Financial Transactions in 2024 The latest report on Malta's economic performance in Q2 2024 shows promising growth and key shifts in the country's balance of payments: ✅ Current Account Surplus: Provisional figures for Malta’s external transactions show that during April - June 2024, the current account balance registered a surplus of €406.5 million, compared to a surplus of €215.7 million a year earlier. This surplus was primarily driven by positive balances in the services (€1,799.6 million) and secondary income (€7.9 million) accounts. 🚢 Services Sector: Services remain a major contributor to the economy, with a surplus of over €6.15 billion. Travel services, in particular, saw a substantial boost, reflecting Malta's appeal as a travel destination and the ongoing recovery of the tourism sector. 💼 Financial Flows: Despite global uncertainties, the financial account recorded a positive net flow of €1.92 billion. Notably, direct investment in Malta saw steady growth, signaling investor confidence in the country's economic environment. 📉 Challenges in Trade: The goods trade balance continues to show a deficit of €2.45 billion, highlighting the challenges in balancing imports and exports. However, the gap has narrowed compared to previous quarters, indicating progress in the manufacturing and export sectors. As Malta continues to navigate the global economic landscape, these numbers highlight both its resilience and opportunities for future growth. 🚀 #MaltaEconomy #FinancialUpdate #InternationalTrade #EconomicGrowth #Malta #ServicesSector #Investment #BusinessInMalta --- 👉 Official report https://lnkd.in/drgc95MB 🔎Follow Us Maltese-Spanish Chamber of Commerce
