New father Conor McGregor took to social media this morning to reveal his son to the world.
As MMAjunkie previously reported, the UFC lightweight champion and girlfriend Dee Devlin on Friday welcomed Conor Jack McGregor into the world at Coombe Women and Infants Hospital in Dublin. Today, McGregor posted the first picture of mother and son together.
Devlin’s pregnancy has been in the news since this past November’s UFC 205 event, when McGregor (21-3 MMA, 9-1 UFC) revealed at the evening’s post-event news conference that he and his longtime girlfriend were expecting a child. That revelation put the UFC’s biggest star on hold until the baby was born.
With mom and son now apparently happy and healthy, McGregor can soon turn his sights back on his combat sports career.
The Irishman is currently holding out hope for a boxing match with all-time great Floyd Mayweather, though negotiations are reportedly at a standstill, and UFC President Dana White recently revealed a targeting date for the card has been lost to another marquee matchup.
McGregor is currently ranked No. 1 in the latest USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie MMA lightweight rankings, and he sits at No. 4 in the MMA pound-for-pound rankings, as well.
McGregor Jr. has yet to post his first pic to Instagram, much to the dismay of the 43,000-plus followers of the verified account.
