The King and Queen were pulled away from a public engagement in Jersey because of a ‘false alarm’.
Camilla was eating an ice cream when a member of the royal contingent whispered something to her.
Both she and Charles were then rushed away from the crowds and taken into the nearby Pomme d’Or hotel.
It is understood a member of the visit team raised a concern, and after investigation, it turned out to be a false alarm.
A full background check was carried out and the programme resumed shortly afterwards. The exact nature of the concern was not specified.
The King and Queen were treated to a display of famous Jersey cattle during the ‘expo’.

They finished their tour of St Helier with a tea party at the same hotel they earlier took shelter in, this time for a more relaxing visit.
The royals will travel to Guernsey tomorrow where they will attend an ancient ceremony of homage of the monarch.
