Good news for chocolate fans! (Picture: Mike Kemp/In Pictures via Getty Images)

Over the years, many of our favourite snacks have been taken too soon —  crisps and biscuits have been axed, and we’ve lost some of the best chocolate bars (RIP Mars Delight).

But one that really stung was the discontinuation of Milky Way Crispy Rolls, which Mars stopped producing in the UK back in April 2022.

It was a sad day for many who loved the childhood snack which featured a creamy filling inside a wafer, coated in smooth chocolate.

Earlier this year the sweet treat was spotted back on shelves in Home Bargains, as the retailer was selling bars that seemed to have been imported from Greece

At the time the pack, containing two crispy rolls, cost 79p each and fans went wild over them.

If you missed out then, we’ve got some good news for you, as multi-packs are now being sold in the store, and they’re a bargain price. The pack of six costs £1.99, but they’ve recently been on offer for 99p as part of a Star Buy promotion.

Snaps of the packs were shared on Instagram by @new.foodfindsuk and on Facebook in the Food Finds UK group where more than 1,000 people shared their joy over the chocolate being back on shelves once more.

Many were keen to go and stock up on their favourite chocolate, with Victoria Coe writing: ‘Someone go buy me like five boxes please.’ As Louise Reid said: ‘I need to get to [Home Bargains] ASAP man. They’re stunning.’

‘I need like 20 boxes, we need to find these,’ proclaimed Jess Morris, as Olivia Roberts joked she was going to ‘buy the shelf’. Others proclaimed the snack ‘god’s gift’, ‘yummy’, and ‘so f***ing good’.

However, a few shoppers were disappointed by their purchase, claiming these bars didn’t taste the same as the original ones.

‘Not the same as the previously discontinued ones… they taste grim,’ commented Annemarie Davies, while Harryson Hollins thought they weren’t ‘as good’.

This isn’t the only popular snack that’s been revived of late, as it comes after an iconic discontinued chocolate bar from the 90s was recently re-launched by Cadbury.

Top Deck was first launched in 1993 and features classic Dairy Milk chocolate on the bottom, and a generous layer of ‘creamy’ white chocolate on the top.

The bars disappeared from shelves in the late 90s, but have recently been available in South Africa, where they’ve become a fan-favourite.

The iconic chocolate bar has been brought back as part of the brand’s ongoing 200th anniversary celebrations and features vintage packaging inspired by the original bar, providing a moment of nostalgia and a trip down memory lane for 90s babies.

Shoppers can find them in Tesco supermarkets and Booker, as well as various other retailers nationwide. A 110g bar costs £1.85, although shops are able to set their own prices.

It’s not yet known how long the Top Deck bars will be available for in the UK, so if you’re a fan, you’ll want to be quick to secure the goods.
